I could copy and paste my first post 3 more times if ya reckon that’ll help?????  cheese

Yes, please do, your post count is too low tongue rolleye

And dammit, I hate it when you’re right!!!!!  LOL

Don’t worry, it doesn’t happen often - just ask my wife!

Just out of curiosity, why aren’t you recommending the DS30, too?

Mate, at 205lbs the DMCC’s will be perfect!!!!! (I’m the same weight)

They also have urethane stabilisers along the sides of the baseplate. that can be taken out if a little Lateral Flex is needed, along with all the adjustments that ya’ll ever need to customise the feel of them to suit ya best!!!!!

Let us know how they go for ya!!!!! I’m sure you’ll love’m!!!!!  shaka

I think I’m sold! unless someone really convincing talks me out of it, you have about 24 hours :D

Just out of curiosity, why aren’t you recommending the DS30, too?

The DS30’s are more suited to the Park Rider, mainly due to it’s softer flexing Baseplate and super lateral flexing Highback as well!!!!!

It could be a fine All MTN choice for a lighter guy/soft board, but now knowing that cool is around the 90kg mark, and coupled with him ridin more Freeride than Park,  the DMCC is def the way to go!!!!!

If he was to be seeking a cheaper binding than the DMCC, I would first look at the SF45, before the DS30!!!!!

Freeride = Stiffer Flex + Park/Jib = Softer Flex!!!!!

* Note that some people think that 40 ft Booters are what is meant by Park, but that’s where a Stiffer Flex Binding is needed (Especially in the Baseplate), although a Softer Lateral (Side to Side in the Highback) Flex can be desirable in order to Tweak/Bone out their tricks!!!!!

I hope that makes sense, mate????? And note that this is a General Rule, as there’s ALWAYS “The Exception to the Rule”!!!!!

yeah im no 40 ft booter but i assumed that the stiffer flex would suit my ride down the mountain but the slight flex would help me out when im hitting natural features or spend a little time in the park. really dont know if im thinking of it the right way but as long as they work for me lol

The best way to describe it will be, that some people like a soft noodly type of ride, while others like to have a firm/controlled grip on their board!!!!!

Then there’s also somewhere in between!!!!!

You’re definitely thinking the right way!!!!!

The Stiffer Flex allows a really responsive feel to your board, whereas a Softer Flex will have a delayed/more forgiving type of ride!!!!!

There’s really no right or wrong, but a Stiffer Flex is preferable when ya fangin down a long run that requires quick decisive movements, and a Softer Flex is preferable when buttering around and letting the equipment take up some of the uneven shapes of the features you’re riding on!!!!!

But like I said, a guy of your weight, and with a Size 12 Hoof, ridin a med/stiff Flex Board, and predominantly Freeriding, the DMCC will suit perfectly!!!!!

^ Agreed, DMCC will suit well. And a lot of riders like a still binding for park as well (added response and stability). It just comes down to personal preference as Mizu said. I have always preferred stiff bindings, in or out of the park.

sounds like i will be purchasing the dmcc tomorrow! so stoked! will let you guys know how they go.. hope my day trip plan on saturday doesnt fall through.. shred

yesssir! cool smile

well this sucks.. so i go into my local valsurf today expecting to purchase my dmcc for $175 (what the employee told me over the phone) but it turns out that supposedly they were incorrectly marked down 50% when in reality they are actually just 30% off
i know it doesnt seem like that much more money but for me it kind of is. im kind of on a budget and im a little down since i didnt get to buy my dmcc today which i was really excited for haha long face

soo im still sort of considering the dmcc because theyre just so sick but im definitely considering other bindings now
so i would really appreciate some suggestions by anyone who can help me out. this does not mean you can only suggest low end or low priced options because some of my shops are doing good sales on bindings, this situation just didn’t work out
all suggestions welcome, thank you ahead of time!

Ergh that sucks! Pretty annoying they didn’t come to play on the price considering they told you via the phone.

You sound pretty stoked on the DMCC but here’s a couple of alternate all mountain bindings I have experience with.

Rome 390 Boss (can save some money by going for the non Boss version but you lose canting)
Burton Cartel

I’m sure others will chip in with other brands options (k2/ride/union etc)

If I was in the market for new bindings I’d also be having a look into Now IPO bindings. This is purely based on reviews though I have absolutely no experience with them.

yeah i was pretty bummed :|
I will check out those though, thanks for your help
all other suggestions are appreciated thank you grin

If they sell FLUX SF45’s ya might wanna suss them out too!!!!!

Failing that, I’d then look at FLUX’s Bread & Butter Binding, the TT30!!!!!

Burton Cartel’s are also a Stiffer Binding, along with Rome Targa’s, if they have any!!!!!

theres last years model SF45 for 140.. its a medium though, from what ive heard, they can fit a 12 on max settings but is there a problem with going max on bindings? for some reason dont have a good feeling bout it.
will check both of those out thanks smile

btw what do you guys think about going with a soft binding for example the rk30 with a midflex to sorta stiff board like my attack banana? bad idea or preference?
