Hello all,
I’m looking to get a new pair of bindings this week. I was looking at the Flux DMCC (not the lights) and im almost set for it but I wanted to get second, third, and maybe fourth opinions! haha well anyway, I’m an all mountain rider, I’d say I only spend about 25-30% of my time in the park but I try and hit all natural features I can get to on every run. I mostly go hard on groomers, tree runs, moguls here and there, and pow runs when weather permits it. I want my binding to at least be solid in the park though and based on reviews the DMCC is a pretty good all mountain binding. I’ve ridden my cousins beat down k2 deck with low end ride bindings and rental boots for the past five years and the few years before that all rentals. So of course anything is an upgrade but I really wanna get good, well performing equipment that will last me a little while (so durability is a concern as well).
I am wondering about compatibility as well so if it helps I recently got an lib attack banana 161 W
I have a nike zoom force 1 in a size 12 and 13 (returning one of them, probably sticking with the 12)
All suggestions are for sure considered but from what I know, I am a fan of flux bindings. I like their heel straps, LOVE the ratchets, and everybody’s gotta be raving about em for a reason right? lol
Thank you for all replies ahead of time! Need all the help I can get!
p.s. I’ve heard that the toe caps have been problematic on these and flux in general.. has anyone experienced that?
Mizu Kuma will be a long soon enough to give you a 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinion on Flux bindings!
Lol, hopefully, it will help me out. I’m guessing he/she is either very for, or against flux? haha

Despite a healthy dose of fanboism he does know his stuff. Pretty sure he just picked up a new pair of Flux DM’s as well.

haha a bit of healthy fanboism is just fine! that’s great, can’t wait to hear from him, and others as well.
I knew I could sense somethin with a touch of awesomeness goin down in here!!!!!
Hey cooldocbk, first off welcome to Boardworld!!!!!
When ya call 25-30% Park you are talkin booters, as opposed to rails????? What sort of weight are ya packin?????
The DMCC (2014 will be called the DM, which I have on order for my new board), is FLUX’s Stiffest Freeride Binding out of the whole range, and will definitely suit the Attack Banana and Zoom’s for a great responsive combination, but if ya after a little lateral flex to tweak those grabs off side hits and booters, or ya weight is on the lean side of things, the DMCC Light is still a great responsive binder with and all mountain tag, that caters for the Park Monkey that likes to ride hard everywhere!!!!!
As for quality, i’ve had my current DMCC’s for about 100 Ride Days so far, and the only wear is cosmetic stuff that any binder will see!!!!! (ie paint removed where highback meets heel cup) Never had a ratchet freeze, a strap pop open, ladders wear, or had any trouble with the toe straps (Bar once or twice having them knocked up a little when ridin through Aussie Trees/Shrubs, and only noticed at the bottom of the hill, and still held my boot in tight enough not to notice any loss of control), just rode 20 Days in Japan Trees without it happening once!!!!!
Bar what I have mentioned about the Toe Straps, most people I know of claim that they’re the best Toe Strap on the market, and with FLUX bein the ones that Patented the whole idea in the first place, ya can see why they would be!!!!!
FLUX also back their stuff with Lifetime Warranty on all Baseplates, and ya only have to see/read responses from anyone, that they have great Customer Support if need be!!!!!
Any other questions, I’ll be glad to try and help out, cause like drc said, you prob call me a FLUX “Fanboi”, although I really hate the fuckin word with a passion!!!!!
Ohh, and keep ya eye out on here, cause there’s a few FLUX Users that post erratically now and then!!!!!
You didn’t even give him 3rd and 4th options! What about the DS30?
The Flux DMCC bindings are top of the line. Flux makes a great product and the DMCCs should serve you very well, on the mountain or in the park. If you are stoked on them, I say make the purchase. Compatibility with your board and boots should be no problem. Just make sure you buy the right size (large). It wouldn’t hurt to take your boots in when you buy them, just so you can strap them in to make sure it all fits nicely.

He wanted “opinions” not options!!!!!
I could copy and paste my first post 3 more times if ya reckon that’ll help?????
Mizu delivers the goods, I knew I could rely on you grandpa.

Yeah, for a 12/13 the Large is the only way to go!!!!!
You’ll find that FLUX Bindings do have a fractionally wider bed in them, but with their UU Fit straps, where the Ankle Strap is mounted on the inside of the heel cup, it will wrap around the boot and hold them in tighter than a Fish’s Arsehole!!!!!

You can always count on the Elderly!!!!!

haha i just had a feeling that you would deliver! durability and last is definitely a concern for me, so that is a little relieving. despite the complaints ive heard from some people. As far as park I’m not the guy charging to get the 720 down you know? ill hit small rails and easy grabs/just got 180s down so im not advanced in the park but i like to spend a little time there. i weigh about 205 lbs. (throughout the year i could fluctuate up or down 10 pounds)
I like the DMCC lights but I’m getting a deal at my local val surf for the DMCCs so if i want the lights id have to pay an extra like 150 and im kind of on a little bit of a budget so if these DMCCs fit my needs and are compatible good, lasting bindings, id deff wanna go with them.
I would wait for next season but as i was saying im kind of on a budget and im assuming that i will get the better deal at this time of the year.
thanks for the help! any other feedback is much appreciated!
p.s. thank you for the welcome!
Mate, at 205lbs the DMCC’s will be perfect!!!!! (I’m the same weight)
They also have urethane stabilisers along the sides of the baseplate. that can be taken out if a little Lateral Flex is needed, along with all the adjustments that ya’ll ever need to customise the feel of them to suit ya best!!!!!
Let us know how they go for ya!!!!! I’m sure you’ll love’m!!!!!
