For some strange reason, I have a hankerin for some Snack Balls and a Plopp?????
Cool Vid!!!!! Looks like you’re havin a ball over there!!!!! Love all of the face plants on the flow rider!!!!! I’ve never ridden one, but I want a go now!!!!!
Nice smooth 1 there at the start too!!!!!
* You should post this vid in the Social Pages!!!!!
Looks like great trip cords. Not many trees on the hiking is the terrain like that in Sweden?
Thanks, Mizu. Its the same kind of flowrider as they have at Wet N Wild on the goldy. I’d ridden it there once before, but this one felt a bit different. Its pretty fun!
@bktron - the terrain looks like that because we’re up above the treeline there…which isn’t that high in altitude at all, really. I think it is about 800m or so? But that is just a guess and I couldn’t find any info on the resort website. Below the tree line is nearly always just pine forest in sweden.
Awesome write-up, cords! That’s great you’re learning Swedish. Must be so hard to communicate with the students in your class, all being from different countries. I guess Swedish is the common language so it must encourage you guys to speak it more. That’s really cool.
Your riding is coming along so nicely! Props to you for pushing yourself and having so much fun while doing it. The park looks pretty sick too! No doubt you’ll be having a lot of fun in there during spring.
Those chilli and lemongrass balls look so tasty. I would have bought a pack for sure.
I replied about the video in your other thread. Great stuff!
I have to do a post about tuesday, because it was such a fun day.
Crackers and his much more lovely wife have been in Sweden for nearly a month and we hadn’t had a chance to see them yet, as they’d been busy doing stuff visiting sara’s family, and visiting Troutface, one of Crackers’ other brothers up north near Åre.
We got wind that they’d be a bit closer on tuesday, riding a resort called Kungsberget (King’s Mountain) which is only about 4 hours away, rather than about 6 hours away. We’d heard good things about the park there and figured it was our (and crackers littlest brother and our housemate dork’s) only chance to see them and have a shred before they returned to oz today (friday).
So, we were up at 4.30am to leave at 5, having packed as much stuff as possible the night before. Here is Freddy the night before making our sandwiches to be second breakfast in the car:
I’d packed a bag with my goggles in a softcase, mitten/pipe glove options depending on the conditions, facemask options depending on the conditions, jacket as well as BW hoody etc etc. I also packed Freddy’s goggles into a soft case, but left them in the usual spot as I know that he hates it when I pack stuff for him. I told him that I’d packed them in the case, though.
We got petrol down the road and then we were on our way, with me driving and on full red alert in case a moose came out on the road. Luckily there was no one around so I could drive in the middle of the smaller roads without too much trouble.
Eventually, the sun started to rise and the sky went many epic shades of fluro pink. I was driving but I made Freddy giving getting a picture of it on my phone a go:
We rolled up to Kungsberget at about 9.10am ready for 9.30am lifts opening and there was literally about 7 other cars in the carpark and no one in sight! We could also see evidence of the park we’d heard about and a lot of untouched corduroy. A quick call to crackers and they were about 10mins away due to swedes being the slowest people in the whole world. Freddy is the exception that proves the rule, in this case.
We got our gear on at which point we realised that Freddy did not in fact have any goggles. When I said I’d packed them in ‘the case’ he thought I meant that I’d packed them in the bag of stuff, and therefore did not even look for them in the morning, thinking that I’d packed them…whoops! I offered him mine but he wouldn’t take them.
It took about half an hour for everyone to arrive and get ready, so we were a bit late after first lifts…but it didn’t really matter as there was hardly any one else around. We were all so happy and excited to see each other and go riding together. It was a fun crew! Cords, Freddy, Crackers, Sars, Dork, Troutface and Linnea.
Here is us at the end of the day (except for sars cos she was taking the picture!). I borrowed this one from her instagram!
(l-r): Freddy, Dork, Me, Crackers,Troutface, Linnea)
We did a few bombing the corduroy runs, as well as playing around with ground tricks. Each person had to think of a ground trick to try and everyone else had to try and copy. I am the worst in the world at these, so I fell a lot, but it was fun! The trick I chose was switch nose presses, which I can hardly do myself but have been trying a little bit lately.
Dork, for a while I think, got a bit over-excited to be riding with his brothers and was trying all sorts of stuff that people with 20 days on a snowboard generally don’t do.
After really enjoying flying down the fresh corduroy for a while, we were keen to go check out the park.
Side note: I have to say, that I know I’m an idiot because I don’t normally wear a helmet when I ride, but the time I feel like I might need one the most is when I am hitting the high speeds on the corduroy. 1 small mistake there and you’re screwed and your head is probably going to be a big part of that messed up equation. I feel way more vulnerable bombing runs than I ever have in the park.
Here’s a pic borrowed with permission from Troutface’s instagram of me with part of the park in the background (BW hoody representing!...and note the empty carpark:
We had fun on the different sized jumps but not a lot of fun on the boxes, as they had this strange black plastic stuff on the top, which seemed to suck in the base of your board, meaning you felt really unstable.
A few hours in and another mate turned up. This guy, Johan is an old friend and traveling partner of freddy’s - it was him that he was traveling Australia with in ‘06 when I met Freddy. We hadn’t seen him for around 4 years, so there was big hugs all round! He also happens to shred! He was the best of our bunch by a decent stretch.
Here’s a pic of a nice back 1 + grab of his.
Here’s also another neat pic of trouty getting in the spinning mix:
My riding overall was pretty average, I landed on the knuckle too many times for my liking (or my neck and back’s liking either) and also managed to axe myself on a box. With the help of crackers & Freddy, I managed to psych up to straight air some decent sized jumps - but that was about it for my riding highlights. I fricking LOVE being in the air!...when I’m in control and going to make the landing, that is…which isn’t all that often :-( hahaha.
Sadly at the end of the day, everyone else had to take off in a hurry, in order to get troutface back to his train and there wasn’t much time to sit around and chat. Sickest day, though!
We took off home and we were absolutely starving, but we didn’t want to stop yet as we were trying to get as far as we could before it got pitch black and we’d have to be on red alert for mooses again.
We ended up stopping at a pizza/kebab place and Freddy got something known as a Viking Pizza:
It is basically a kebab plate (chips, salad, kebab meat, kebab sauce) wrapped up in a pizza base and made to resemble a viking ship!
Dork and I went for regular kebab plates, not realising what awesomeness it was that Freddy had ordered….next time!
We got home at about 9.30pm, exhausted after our early start, showered and hit the sack. I was way too tired and sore (neck, back and butt) to ride on wednesday, but it was pretty windy so I didn’t feel too bad. Still sore on thursday and today (friday) but made myself go and ride anyway because the weather was way too nice to not go out!

Oh right
Nice gangster pose in the photo !
Can you please post me a Viking Pizza back to OZ, cords!!!!!
With extra chillies on top!!!!!
Viking Pizza
Was a great day thats for sure. I got 60cm in two days on the weekend before this park day. Its not often that a park day rivals a 30cm pow day but this one did. Kungsberget park was so fun and hitting some of the bigger kickers I have hit in a long time was a good feeling. The one Johan is 180ing on I only hit twice and was shitting myself the whole time but the rest of the line was fun. Wish I could ride there again.
Cords and I also showed the crowds how to pump yourself on the knuckle a few times…..
some lasses ripping on the rails round your way Cords
there have been good vids to come out of klappen this season but I haven’t posted any because I haven’t been there, yet! May well go this week though with blindboy and snappy tom though?
Sorry for the lack of updates, people. Firstly it was because nothing much interesting was going on…the last few days I’ve been having too much fun!
Two of Crackers brothers are here (plus the one that is living with us) and we’ve been having a ball. Bluebird weather and super fun park sessions! We went to Trysil today and it was sooooo fun again! We are seriously considering coming back and doing another season there. The mountain has really long, wide and fun slopes that face nearly all directions and some super fun park stuff.
We’ve all been trying to do something new. For dork it is doing the whole blue run in Pink Park, for me it is landing some methods (not consistently with tweak yet but there has definitely been some ‘proper’ methods in there which I’m pretty amped on). Blindboy has just been ripping in general doing some pretty decent size jumps and did some stylish shiftys last thing this afternoon. Troutface has landed some 5s and I’m pretty sure will land 7s tomorrow. Freddy’s knees are pretty much stuffed and he had to eat heaps of Voltaren tablets to even be able to ride today.
More updates in the next few days, hopefully!
Definitely needs pics!!!!!

Nice one freddy!
