Since Billy is a teacher, she probably isn’t making bucket-loads over than certain salary and therefore only pays back like 10-15% a year from the Hecs debt.

hmmm

What are you incinuating? My salary isn’t THAT bad TJ!

big surprise

paid mine off last year, but was still having it taken out of my tax, my tax return was AWESOME!!!!!

Its a good feeling being “debt free”  (besides the 300G’s for my home loan smile )

That’s what I’m doing! Bring on July! Yeeehah!

Sorry Billy. But teachers don’t strike for pay rises for nothing. lol

And since it took you 9 years to pay off, 10-15% per year is about right…

Hmm. oh oh
Actually, it’s around 8 years but who is counting.
So, how much were my uni fees exactly? wink

A lot of the strikes revolve around work conditions/education policies and yearly pay rises being less than the inflation rate.

If you move up the ranks you can actually earn an all right salary (and this isn’t even taking into account some crazy private school wages)

As someone who is surrounded every day by teachers I believe like most industries there are some who are grossly underpaid for the amount of work they put in (hint it’s not a 9am-3pm job with lots of holidays) and on the flip side some teachers who are lazy and just turning up for the pay packet who are grossly overpaid.
