Kim, don’t take his crap, haha!

I was surprised by the amount of female volunteers, and “youngsters”.  I hope that will help the odds for an old fart like myself at 48!

70% of applicant are women!

Good for you male volenteers (for numerous reasons!)

Interesting that training start in March.

I think this means that they want to see how training goes with the Russians before allocating the internationals. Some people may drop out at the process so therefore more slots for us!

7 of 10? Wooo-Hooo! I like those odd’s!  On a personal note, seeing as I tweaked my knee (again) I was forced to change my volunteer preference (again). I am now in the Olympic Village area. That was the bad news, the good news is I received an email today that they will making a final decision for me next week. So either way I wont be waiting and wondering what my status is for too much longer…

As far as “training” for International Volunteers is concerned, I was told that there hasn’t been a decision made yet, on how that will proceed. (for those of you who have been on the board for a while, this news will not come as a shock to you) For Russian Volunteers training starts next week.

Again, those who have gone through the process and are still waiting confirmation and/or haven’t had their interview yet, good luck! And the first round is on me if (when) we all make it to Sochi!

I just finished my interview and wondered if it would be possible to get a private message with Elena’s email. I’m worried about the outcome because they switched my interviewer mid-interview and their account logged off several times in the middle due to a bad connection. They apologized, but I just want to make sure everything is okay. I would really appreciate it! smile

Hello guys!
Well it took me forever to find a forum like this!!! but I did!

so I’m a Mexican girl who speaks 4 languages and loves figure skating (now you have a clue why I applied to sochi!)
I applied in earlier 2012, had the EF test (English) in June and the personality test (Russian) in late July

I got my invitation for the interview just now in march so I’ll have my interview next Monday…
As I read I’ll chose English since my Russian is not that good as for a job interview…but I was wondering if i can get some ideas over here or advices to be at least less nervous.

Also, the ones who already had it..what’s next or how long does it take to have a definitive acceptance?

THANKS so much

Welcome!  Many of us, including myself, found this board by some intense searching.  If you read through the previous posts, there are many describing the interview process.  Some were told they would know this month, I was told that everyone would know by May.

So, most of us are still waiting…..

For you folks on Facebook,  I stumbled across this link for volunteers.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/SochiVolunteers/
