Mitsubishi EVO - The sub $150K weapon of choice at the track.

That’s a GT3 RS at the 2:30 mark:

The evo gives the ‘average driver’ Porsche a run for it’s money in the dry too…

Is that you Aj?

Here’s my mechanic in a race tuned version of my engine in a bug.

EDIT: I lie! it’s 2.7L supercharged. Mine is 2.0L efi

Lots of different car types in this thread but there is one common denominator, BW would appear to have a healthy amount of bogan members.

I respect that rotars are quick cars but I really do not like the noise they make nor the connotations that can be drawn as to the stereotypical rotar owner.  As far as fast fours go I personally prefer the new wide body WRX sedans, I like the boxer engine noise as well, never really liked Evo’s but have a healthy respect for what they’re capable of.  Sub $150K would buy you an R35 AJ, personally I would have one of those over any Evo but then I would need to drive the Nissan and a W427 and see what I preferred.

My head is exploding at the moment with choices, practicality vs overwhelming boganic desire….............................

Hmmm I wonder if I can upgrade my freedom pass to include skitube at this late stage and buy something like this, if only it was manual.

This might be a bit more future proof and “sensible”

I’m not getting any younger and I generally keep my cars for over 3 years so there is a possibility it will happen mate.  Why didn’t you buy a 4wd, that way I could be a bogan and get a lift with you ha ha ha!

Option #2 NBG for sure!

As much as a dunnydoor ute makes me a little wet in the panties I desire the wagen much more.
But if I were going down that road I would look into an Audi RS 4 Avant, the Holden would be more showy and less goey.

I think my68vw is a good reflection of me; “Old body, young spirit but still decent performance - with bits that break to remind you nothing lasts forever”.

This is the best example of how good the VW wishbone chassie for handling.
Take a 1963 Kombi, whack in a 500hp Porsche 993 engine and couple it to a 996 gear box.

Front engine/rear drive is more about allowing the average driver to corner and get the back end loose (bogans) wink
Front engine/Front drive is about lazy engineering (wannabe’s).
Rear/Rear (and I’ll admit Mid/Rear) is a real car for real drivers, that’s the secrete to performance and why Lamborghini built his own car instead of buying a Ferrari. Ferrari later learned this secrete.

In the COTF for V8 Supercars, they now have the engine moved back 100mm, the gear box and diff are now one and they have moved the fuel cell inside the cabin…........ I think they must of been talking to you spaz smile

If you do go the Bogan route NBG you can always catch a ride with me.
The Territory is a very cruisy ride but the VW is my choice for the trip, for a few reasons - it scares any wildlife off the road, hard to get dosey while driving, gets there a bit quicker, cheaper on fuel (even if it runs strictly on high oct) and in a much cooler fashion.

It’s the only car I’ve been in that chicks flash their boobies at. It feels kind of rock star.

Funnily enough I turned down a job with Holdens race department in the mechanical engineering side of things.
BIGGEST mistake of my life! Turned it down to continue my junior carrier in professional Rugby League with Wests Magpies.
