He decided he is too old to do overnight shifts.
He was also really sick most of the season and couldn’t take decent medication to knock it on the head due to the restrictions of being a train driver.
He will only he to do morning or afternoon shifts at thredbo.
I guess that’s ok if he’s fine with waiting till mid July for top to bottom cover…..............................
Haha. They don’t ski that much anymore! It doesn’t bother him. I think mum did more days than dad last year.

Even with half cover you get more vert than P.
T2B is more than twice the vert of P.
And 1/4 of the lifts! I might go for a day to Thredbo this year in peak season, it’s been a long time.
In Peak season, Thredders can be good. Just get up there for first lifts as it’s shit by 2pm since the way the sun sits it gets really icy and crap in the arvo unless it’s a powder day.
I don’t reckon I would get value out of buying both in terms of going to each at least 8 days a piece. If I do 21 days at one on one pass then it’s cost me $33 a day. If even if I do 11 days at both resorts it means I’m paying $63 a day, yes it’s better than $110 a day but still. I could do 19 days at perisher and 2 days at thredbo full price and it would have cost me $43 a day. Anyways that’s based on me thinking I’ll get about or just over 20 days on snow this season.
Same for me nbg, went 22 and paid 35 or so a day ( I have ski tube with my pass). So good!! Looking like 30+ days this season! Yeww can’t wait!!
Perisher park >> Thredbo park.

Was 22 June, 2011 only worth calling good Tj?
That was not “peak season”.

Neck seized at the start of bronze medallion swim leg today.
Swam the last 150m without being able to breath or do freestyle, ran the last 100m semi blacked out but still did it in allowed time.
Freaked me out because following the run-swim-run we did neck/spinal theory and practice on the beach. Gladly I “played” the part of patient, during that I started losing consciensness but no-one realized since I was laying down and braced up.
When I sat up was close to vomiting (I breathed in some water during the swim also). I told them all it was just getting the water out, which it was, but didn’t mention my neck.
The guy that runs the course (who I surf with), only noticed I was in a actual bad way when we started talking, I sounded groggy and struggled to walk up the beach. He’s an ex ambo and since I excelled in the emergency treatment scenerios earlier, took my self diagnosis as truth.
Rinsed myself off and layed down for an hour. Neck started improving and vision returned, took a double dose of ibuprofen and sat out the board leg. I think I still passed that since the whole club has seen me surf.
Following falling off the top of a ladder last week my neck was still jarred, trying to swim caused it to seize resulting in me not getting my head out of the water when I tried to breath.
It was not fun.
Devo’ed I fell off that ladder!
Devo that i’m home sick…..........

Remember how we went in at like midday cause some old man was tired…
Then I went back out at like 2pm cause I’d bought a day pass and then did 1 run cause it was so shit…
Yeah I remember.
tired / to late in the day /
sick of waiting for youngins to hike out of waist deep powder
... Whatever the reason midday is beer o’clock in Thredbo, I was following the Thredbo clock - by syncing into that clock we scored free beer at Ullr.
2011 had an excellent early season and best July snow in history.
Neck still sore this morning, had to work last night, time to up the strength of muscle relaxants -bring on the valium-
next post will be in the stoke thread, with bad spelling (worse than normal) and woeful grammer.
