Canada vs USA
Australia is gearing up to host USA and Canada in an exhibition ice hockey series in June 2013. The teams which are to be compiled of players from professional North American leagues, will showcase the infamous rivalry of the two nations in Australia’s biggest and best sporting arenas.
Australia; prepare to see, big games, big hits and big time players including Olympic medalists and Stanley Cup winners.
Promoter Craig Douglas of Douglas Webber Group says Sydney and Melbourne will see their venues transformed into a temporary House of Hockey with the installation of a portable NHL spec ice rink, and no expense will be spared in providing an authentic American ice hockey experience with onsite broadcasting on the massive Jumbotron screens, sound and lighting effects, and authentic North American announcers.

Would be fun but there is no way I am committing to something on a Saturday night in season! - June has gone off the last couple of years!
Lol true but how often does this actually happen in Australia ???
Are tickets already on sale??
true Lano but having experienced a NHL game I think I can pass!
^^^ Agreed
Are tickets already on sale??
yes they are,
Since i had to cancel Canada this year, this will make up for some of the disappointment.
I’m thinking of going. Will have to put my snow weekends around the hockey game
come with us and few of my mates if u wnat.
Heck yeah got my tickets two weeks ago can’t wait even tho it is during this season. Might have to do a midnight dash to perisher and have a sickie on the Monday if its really going off.
Don’t expect any current players and these teams will be made up of players that may have been on Stanley Cup or gold medal teams but generally won’t be from the top lines if they do play. There may be a couple recognisable names, but probably not many.
Not to say it shouldn’t be relatively decent hockey, but it won’t compare to current top level NHL or Olympic hockey.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of playing, fortunately non-contact, against and with current (at the time) and former professional players, including NHL players. There is usually a huge noticeable difference between NHL and minor pro hockey players, and even more so with ex-professionals. I look a complete fool against the former, but could sometimes actually compete with the latter.
If you have never seen higher level hockey, have the time and a few dollars to spend, it might not be a bad outing.
More importantly Canada and the US beating the tar out of each other on ice..
StillLearning, I think most of us just want to see good hockey lol. Like your last line.
Lano, one of my mates is pretty keen as well. I’ll talk to you on Sunday about it?
