Ok so this has kinda turned into an organised BW surf lesson since I’ve been away from the computer actually having a surf, and a game of tennis that I won by the way.
I have lots of boards, unfortunately none of which are going to help anyone learn at all, I have zero beginners boards! I’m up in the air what I’m doing this weekend, I was sposed to be going away but not sure that will happen. If it doesn’t I could make a trip somewhere Sunday morning possibly.
if its in the morning i can definitely make make it. but in arvo wife said we have some friends coming over for a dinner.
Nthn i seriously not bothered if its learning board or not personally i just want to see if i am going to like it or not and then i could start convincing wife lol , the board my mate said he could lend me i dont think it would be a learning board either.
either way i am keen if its in the morning.

Any chance you know somewhere we can rent boards on the Northern beaches? (Did you miss the bit we were going to come to you?)
I musta missed that bit eh! Um on the northern beaches I guess Manly or perhaps Narrabeen, maybe even Palmy but that’s probably a bit far? I can try and find out, I have a couple of mates who might have soft boards that I can borrow, how many people exactly are we looking at?
Lanox the whole idea about learning to surf is to try and get someone on something they will have fun on. Putting them on a high performance shortboard would be an exercise in futility/frustration and won’t have the desired result of getting the beginner hooked! The only parallel I can draw with snowboarding would be like putting a first timer in hardboots and on a down hill slalom racing board with binding angles of +60 and +60 and then hoping they’ll have fun on the bunny slope with that setup. Normal shortboards really are that much of an Ahole to learn on it’s not really worth it.
On second thought I do have access so a 8ft mal which might be of some use, if there’s not too many people I might be able to sort boards out. Luckily it’s summer so wetsuits aren’t really needed but if you have one and want to wear it feel free to do so!
