Boots with good shock absorption

Hi,

what boots could I consider if I want great shock absorption ?

Boots should be more on the responsive side with good heel hold.

Dc boots tend to have great absorption. I until recently had the park boot by dc and they were great. I now have the ceptor, but can’t comment on these yet

K2 boots with harshmellow are super good for that. I have ThirtyTwos atm and my feet ache by the end of the day from all the shock of crud and jumps. My previous k2 darkos were awesome at dampening

Hm, could get old K2 T1 from 2005 or 2006 pretty cheap. Any opinons about those?

Anyone familiar with Northwave Domain Sl’ s ?

The Darkos don’t look bad as well. Maybe a better choice than old T1’s ?

But I’m not quite sure if I would like BOA on the liners.

How is the flex?

Boa on the liners is ok. Can stiffen up on the run. But can have item low I u want. Med flex. T1s are really stiff

Plus t1s that old wot have harshmellow

Some binding footbeds offer SA too.

Can’t comment on that specific model though, sorry.

I’ve got new K2 T1s with harshmellow. Really comfy boot good shock absorbion even with different footbeds. The boot itself is quite stiff as K2 said..

Hey guys,

thanks, great info. Very helpful as always on this forum.

@cords: Which Northwave do you have. How’s your model in terms of shock absorption.

How long does the flex last on the K2 and Northwaves? I tend to get stiffer boots cause when they soften it might be better than with boots that are softer from the start.

DC Statis/T-rice : stiff, great shock absorption, have been using them for the last few seasons no complaints

mine are northwave opal.

My husband has had the Legend & now has Decade.

They’ve all been great & certainly have no complaints with shock absorption

I rode only 15 days or so last year in my T1’s and they still feel pretty stiff..

Vibram is reputedly a good shock absorber. Some high-end Burton boots incorporate Vibram into their soles. My SLX boots have it.

I recently got boa boots and have since changed them over again to lace ups. If u have skinny ankles boa may not be for you. They tend to add pressure in places where you don’t want pressure during your ride
