Surf Today

Couple of fun small ones but not much to write home about, the random booger probably got the best wave.

Very nice wish I could surf…..... wish there was good surf around these parts :(

How deep is it there? Looks shallow.

Its about a foot deep or so when it breaks Azz but for whatever reason you don’t bounce off the bottom very much.  Wasn’t as good as we had hoped, I really had buckleys of squashing myself into any barrels, too small for me to fit but the water and surrounds made for some good pictures and the Xavier cover is cool.

nthn do you come down to marubra or bondi much for surf at all ?

I’m not sure when the last time I surfed down there was mate but I could be convinced to go there!

Lanox the surf is looking pretty rubbish all this week, small and onshore, will keep an eye on it and let you know.

Mattyp it’s on the northern beaches of Sydney mate about 2 mins from my house, doesn’t break all the time though.

Cords I’m a bit excited about my new board at the moment so I haven’t ridden my other board with the camera mount in any barrels yet but I will try.

one of these would do nicely! Gotta stop thinking about it now…way too far away from that wave for it to be anything but depressing. Lucky I’m going snowboarding tomorrow and also most probably picking up my new board!

From the reef shot it looks like its further north. Was expecting mostly banks from here down really. im in Byron and its practically all bank waves.

Getting a fin mount in the nose of one of my boards soon, then gopro once thats done, cant wait to get some good POV footage!

I have another couple of threads floating around here with POV cam footage from the nose of my board.  The fcs plug is a great way of doing it, a lot cleaner than what I did with double sided tape mount and a safety wire loop.  I might look into the plug style for my older board as well. 

The reef is just rocks and general sea grass and stuff, actually looked a lot more interesting than I thought it would, not sure what you mean by mostly banks from here down.

My stuff has been shot with the Sony Action Cam, I’m a fan of it especially for the price point compared to Go Pro and Contour.  My biggest issue really is the uploading compression, all my footage looks amazing raw on the TV, with that said this vid turned out pretty well.

hrmm man watching all ur stuff really makes me want to go surfing, and on top of all i never done it which would be even more interesting to see how i go.
