Ride Binding issues

Avatar

Thanx grin

What you think of the ability to change the stiffness of the ankle strap you think it will do anything or is it just a selling feature that’s never used??

Just wondering if it will have a significant effect on the feel and response of the bindings

A stiff board needs a responsive binding in order to control, and use the boards attributes to it’s utmost as it was meant to be ridden?????

Not really, I see what you mean though - you’re right a stiffer binding is going to create a more responsive board and allow you to charge a lot harder. And while a stiff board in the park is going to be a more stable platform, combining that with stiff bindings is going to create a super responsive board with little forgiveness and make some tricks harder because there’s less freedom of movement in them. As with everything, it’s all preference. I ride mid to soft bindings for everything, and on any stiffness of board.

That being said, I just watched a video of a mate killing it in the park on some Targa’s - I thought he was on the 390s as he had been in the past but they are definitely Targa’s.

I’m not sure how the straps/flex on them work or feel though sorry.

While I’ve never used them, I think adding/removing/relocating different hardness components/formed parts/settings will definitely make a difference to how a piece of gear behaves!!!!!

Just like altering angles on highbacks, asym straps, etc etc, it’s all there to give the rider a little “tweakability”, and I reckon that’s great!!!!!

Sometimes it a minor adjustment here or there means the difference between either loving or hating a product!!!!!

Well said

Hey Lester, maybe you should check out the Rome Mob Boss. Should be lighter than the Targas.

I got the 390 boss and they rock!!!, tried the Mob boss definitely light but they don’t offer nearly as much adjustablity plus the sizing didnt work for me Large too large, Med were too small and with the lack of adjustablity they just didnt work sucks cause I hear great things about those binding. The 390 boss are amazing, crazy adjustablity, mid flex, the comfiest ankle strap ever, great response but great lateral flex I use them with Vans Aura boots and my Bataleon Evil Twin (sweet park setup)
