It was a hard long fight but the insurance money cleared in my bank acct this evening!
Even better news is that I had paid off more of my loan than I thought and basically I have broken even on paying off the old car loan and paying back my parents for the bogan beast they lent me money for!

It has been stressful these last couple of weeks because the claim was pretty much dealt with before I left the country and they took 6 weeks to pay me, and there is actually no explanation for it.
It was the same company I had for the excel and that took 5 days to settle from when I submitted the claim.
Crazy!
Insurance companies, protecting their bottom line involves screwing you the customer as hard as they can, good to see you got it eventually, much needed cash injection after an OS holiday I bet!
After a bit of a worrying surf yesterday on my new stick where it didn’t quite feel like what I expected I took it out today after a fin change and VOILA, happy camper, paddled out after one wave and my mate commented that from the back of the wave it looked like I went to Hacktoria on it ha ha, stoked. The old rounded square tail always throws more spray than the rounded pin!

Was stunned to see how much the river has change since I last went down to Windsor. HEAPS of CUBS. which isn’t that bad in itself but pretty sure none of them grew up on the water so besides having a boat licence they really have no idea!
It was really really busy today and still people weren’t signalling with their hands at all! It was crazy.
So just in case anyone doesn’t know what I am talking about madam safety will explain.
It is illegal to water ski/wake board etc without 2 people in the boat at all times - This is because the passenger is actually a spotter/observer (and there are rules about this person/age etc). And the spot and driver can’t drink (well.o5 or something)
This spotter has a very vital role (besides just watching the person behind the boat)
If the person come off someone on the boat must raise their hand - this signals to the other boats that there is someone in the water, the person in the water must also raise their hand. It is common curtsey for the people in the other boats to raise their hand to acknowledge they have seen your hand and are aware of the person in the water.
this is basic watercraft etiquette doesn’t matter if you are on a jet ski/wave runner or a fishing boat either.
