Boardworld’s surf section “How to Surf” teaser

Avatar

Hey guys,

I don’t know how long I will leave this up for.

The “How to Surf” series is 8 episodes long.

I’ve watched all of them and they have turned out really well. I’m pretty stoked with what we have achieved.

Anyway, here is the first episode. It should give you a taste of how the series will be.

Looking forward to watching this when the room is a little bit quieter. Considering my surfboard is gathering dust in the garage this will be very handy!

Volume.  A massive piece of the puzzle that is really starting to take it’s place in board design these days, would have been good to see that included in this piece.  Most of the major shapers are including volume measurements in their board specs these days to allow people to understand just how bouyant the board is likely to be.

Awesome, I will definitely have a look at these.  I actually just purchased a “learn to surf” book so this is very timely.

Mate I watched it last night and it was very good.  The only thing I would add is a bit more specific detail if possible, eg. maybe get the presenter to show and talk about some example boards in a bit more detail, more specifics on board sizing eg. I know adults normally learn on a 8-9 foot softie.

Watched it last night and the quality seems to be good!

I’m mostly looking forward to the in water technique content so hoping there is plenty of that with the first 2/8 episodes looking like they are equipment based.

Yes, more talk about the different boards and show examples as they are spoken about smile

I would be up for that but no one wants to see my ugly mug or hear my bogan voice on the TV ha ha!  Personally I reckon having a shaper talk about the various types of boards would be the most beneficial, surfers are notorious for not really knowing what makes boards go the way they do other than the massively obvious.

After that little outburst I hope you have a room for the whole season at the crackpackers as Chateau NBG just closed it’s doors to you.
