Yes well going by the law of averages, you’re in for some massive dumps!
Kirkwood on a friday NO queues!
Pretty quiet resort.
Lots of the smaller US resorts have no queues outside of holiday times.
do u prefer myoko/nozawa or hakuba ?
do u prefer myoko/nozawa or hakuba ?
Hard to judge them fairly as I had completely different snow conditions and a years more experience riding.
Having said that I’d have to give Myoko/Nozawa the edge over Hakuba (though I still want another shot at a Pow day at Cortina)
Also from the sample of Aussies that were at the Fire Festival that had caught the bus from Hakuba, I really worry about how quickly Hakuba seems to have gone in a direction I’m not too fond of.
you know what tho, give it few year maybe even months and i guarantee you any money Hakuba, nozawa, myoko they will all be more populated with Aussies/ tourists that chase pow in general..
its just how it is…

I wonder if Andy was on that bus

Yeah I agree, I don’t have a problem with people chasing pow there were even times I was craving an english conversation. I just wish they would do it in a more civilised respectful manner that doesn’t make you cringe to be Australian. I met a few fantastic guys who I clicked with instantly.
Nozawa isn’t far off from being on everyones radar so if it worries you I would get there ASAP. Myoko still has a little while I reckon.
From what I know there’s at least another 40+ ski fields scattered around the place so it’s not the end of the world.
everything you said i agree.
oh yes definitely man nozawa and myoko are just one of the 100 mountains that they have.
i saw want to book last min trip and go there for a week sad thing is i can but just cbfed going alone.
Weren’t you invited to go with DRC Lano??
Nop not that I know of Kim….

DO IT!! If it wasn’t for work I’d go back again this season! Travelling by yourself is amazing you learn so much about yourself and if you have any form of determination, motivation and perserverence you get a whole lot out of it. I’d made friends at Nozawa before I’d even dropped my gear off when arriving. Myoko is trickier by yourself but if you love the snow and Japanese it’s another different experience. I actually found myself missing the isolation when it was over. Plus the no friends on pow days rule is very easy to stick to!
cbfed and snowboarding in Japan don’t belong together!

I’m pretty sure way back last year I said something about we’d ride together if he came over but my plan was to always book/organise my trip on my own.

Haha I can honestly say I had no issues with you at the shred at all you were very easy to room with. I just might move my bed a little bit further away and pack a couple of pairs of earplugs when it comes to your mates!
Unfortunately I can’t help you with any of that stuff though mate. All I can say is being on the snow by yourself can be truly rewarding and if it’s something you really want to do I’m sure all those issues are rather minor and can be handled. Be selfish and get out there and enjoy yourself! As the cool kids say YOLO!
