Yeah I have to admit booking in non snow season felt a little weird but when decently priced tickets came up for term 3 holidays (both work in schools) we figured we may as well give it a shot. I know I love Tokyo and am happy to eat myself silly for two more weeks. It also allows me to do some side trips which I wouldn’t get around to on a snow trip. Its also her first OS trip so I’ll be able to give her a pretty good guide to Japan.
The 9hr direct flight is going to be amazing vs my 30hr trip I just had.
Not ruling out a snow trip either still need to do Hokkaido, Canada, USA etc
what is going on here i am confused lol

Last night I impulse purchased 2 tickets to Japan for the September school holidays for 2 weeks travelling in Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka/Hakone etc with a friend.

Haha I have up until this point (and I suspect there will be a fair bit of heading off and doing my own thing while I leave her in all of the fancy shops) but my friend has been keen to visit Japan since hearing all of my wonderful stories but would never do it on her own.
When the Qantas sale came up I figured what the hell I can never get too much Japan so I may as well act as a tour guide for a couple of weeks.
nah i agree mate….. going to Japan as a holiday rather then snow trip is a good thing you will get to see more and experience more .

Thanks mate, on one hand I felt a little silly as I just had 7 nights in Tokyo (which some people consider a long time) but I really enjoy the place and especially the food just as much as being on the snow. Sharing it with someone else and checking out some of the other areas of Japan will be nice as well.
After this I do need to expand my horizons, I keep telling myself I should take a snow trip to somewhere like the USA or Canada next time but I just fear that it wouldn’t suit me as well as Japan does i.e not there for a party more for incredible powder snow, no lift lines, food and culture. I’m sure they have it I just haven’t researched enough to find out where yet.
Gulmarg!!!!!
Gulmarg!!!!!
Haha have to admit to needing to wikipedia that. Unfortunately as much as I love food indian food/curries are one of the few things I pretty much don’t eat which could proved to be troublesome over there!
Certainly looks like an interesting place. Argentina is a place that I need to look into, BIG mountains and BIGGER steaks!
Yeah, I’ve got a Uruguayan mate and he says that there’s only one food group in South America!!!!!!
Meat!!!!!

Haha if I can scrounge up a side of salad/rice I’ll be pretty happy with that!
You must be leaving soon? need to know when to start doing a snow dance for you, since Billy and I left somebody seems to have broken the powder machine!
