Guys need some advice here long story short I actually won a Yes snowboard through there whole Treasure Hunt questions on there newest movie (Yes it’s a movie too), they basically had these secret questions that they throw in between frames (hard to catch) but they gave hints about it prior, well anyway for the hell of it I sent the answer this was back in Oct they said they were going to pull names for the new year so when the 1st hit I received a email that I won I couldn’t believe it so naturally I thought of getting the PYL in a 159 for pow / big mountain, just wondering if a 161 would be too big for me ?? 160-165lbs (75kg) reason I’m asking is that they are getting a shipment of 2013 boards and I’m just trying to give them a few options incase the 159 isn’t available. I’m currently riding 152 for park, 154-156 for everything else
157 seems too short to a pow/ big line stick but you guys tell me
161 seems like too much board for me but hey for pow / speed might be great
Also of there is any other board in the Yes line that I should throw into the mix to improve my adds in getting the one sweet board please pass them along thanx guys keep in mind i already have the Greats in a 156
Currently PYL 159 is board of choice but they emailed me today if 157 or 161 would work incase the 159 isn’t available when the shipment comes in, I think they ment 156 or 161 but either way
Thanx all
GOTTA LOVE YES.
59 or 61 then, since you already have a 56 Greats.
Yeahh but that’s a jump from my 156 to 161 no? I seen from the other posts that this board has a good amount of Camber so maybe 161 would be sick especially in the super deep pow
Ya, as you can see from my pics, it has a good amount of camber in it, the stance is also set back 3/4 inch. If you get he 161, you’ll prolly only use it on pow days, where as if you get the 156 you can still ride it on non-pow days.
Firstly, nice win man!
There’s no way I would get anything bigger than the 159. The 161 will be unnecessarily big for you. I would even consider the 156; to be honest, that would probably be my pick (at the very least the 156 would be my backup size).
But if the 161 is all they have…......
You can always pass it on to ya favourite Boardworld Member!!!!!

Thanx Rider,
So a definite no on th 161 hu? I would grab the 156 but with already having the Greats in that size is there a point in getting the PYL in the same size? Any other board I should be looking at just incase PYL in gonna be a no go ??
Some that I was thinkin about:
Maybe the Greats in a differnet size 158 ? 154?
Trouble looks good and it’s got Tragna Mraction which i really hope is like megna traction I was thinkin in a 158
The Jackpot maybe seems like a park jib stick maybe 149-152
The 420 even looks tempting it weird lookin but suppose to be sick in pow

Definitely tempting but how often do you win a snowboard haha I wanna keep my win u know but that don’t mean I can’t pass some other one of mine towards boardworld maybe
The 420 seems like a better idea for a pure pow board.

Yeah I would forget about the 161.
Well, the PYL and Greats ride differently, so I don’t think it matters too much if they are the same size.
Jackpot as a jib/park board… now there’s an idea!
If I remember correctly you got the Greats in 156 so if could handle the deep pow and ride all over the mountain? It’s been handling the pow fine, right? If that’s the case, I’m not sure why you need a dedicated pow/freeride board. I think the better idea would be to increase the versatility of your quiver, i.e. get something totally different. The Jackpot in a smaller size seems like a perfect idea. But it depends on your intentions.
Lester… don’t you have a Hovercraft though…??
Wouldn’t that cover your POW needs…
Unless of course you are looking to let the Hovercraft go…. I’d love one for my Japan trip….. [hint over]
If ya really happy with The Greats, I reckon a different size would be a great choice!!!!!
One down for a Jib Stick, or one up for a Deep Pow Day!!!!!
Considering what you’ve already got, go for the PYL in a 159, with the 156 as your fallback.
OR, if you’re definitely keen on getting a board for all-round powder AND piste performance, I’ll trade you a brand new Capita Charlie Slasher 158 for a 159 PYL.

The Greats handled very well in pow but I haven’t hit any super deep pow yet like Mt baker or Whistler conditions that i will experience in less then a month, the Jackpot is looking tempting always wanted a sweet jib and buttering stick would be nice how short can i go on this board 146-152 I’m thinking
How about Trouble ? What you think about that one ??

The hovercraft is definitely my pow board of choice I take it on every trip but only ride it in the deep deep pow where my other boards can’t handle like in baker I took the Banana Magic and it was ok but with snow that deep the hovercraft saved my butt… I really like the Hovercraft for the lenght the board has unreal float only down side is cant ride switch and I really like going spins in pow and hitting them front/backside. 180s always a classic
You can ride the Charlie switch!
