I’ve never tried. I would be keen to try if given the opportunity though.
You’re welcome to try mine any time.
I havent but was thinking about doing it for a day in Japan when I went. Hadnt snowed for a few days and Tsugiaki (prob not correct spelling) out of Hakuba had some epic super groomers. Wish I had of now
You’re also welcome to try mine any time.
Cheers mate, will keep that in mind
That is if you have the same size foot…

Size 11 foot here. My boots are a size 7 I think and I got them punched until they fit.
. . .They have a layer of rubber/foam at the bottom of them, which apparently is like the second coming. Just a piece of glorified rubber/foam imo.
. . . I opted to hit up Treble Cone . . .
Where about is Ohau? I don’t even remember that region to be honest! What do you ride these days?
My Burton CO2 and P1.1 bindings both have a thin layer of compressed neoprene under the baseplate that i made myself. Works a treat.

I’d imagine Saddle Basin would be amazing for hardbooting?

Ohau is in the South Island Mackenzie region, near Tekapo - about halfway between Christchurch and Queenstown.
Found a link to this vid on the Onboard snowboard mag site. Seen a vid similar to this before on bw but thought the enthusiasts might be keen on this one!
some pretty low turns there, still isnt for me though. Its kinda got that whole limbo on rollerskates or slalom on a skateboard kinda feel. Each to their own.

Extreme/Euro Carving is sickkk.
Hi Chucky,
I just puchased an Alpine board and a pair of hard boots. Going to trying it this winter. Do you know if I can find anyone in Perisher can actually teach Alpine board?
Cheers
Welcome to Boardworld, Weile.
I just emailed one of my contacts at Perisher to get an official answer on this. I will let you know when I hear back.
Hey Weile,
I spoke to Perisher and I have an official response for you.
If the guest looked to book a private with the Snowsports school we could possibly offer, not as groups lessons.
We are unsure at this stage of the instructors we have that would have this sort of equipment at this stage.
They could approach us closer to winter.
So the best thing to do is contact Perisher’s snowsports school closer to winter and put in the request. I hope this helps.
