Did he really admit it? that sucks that he did. ha there was a few people on here in the thread about him going a little crazy claiming his innocence and claiming anyone who said they saw him doing it were liars…..

Shame really that he cheated. I have so many good memory’s from Tours where he did amazing things.

Did he really admit it?

Perhaps. We’ll know more ONLY when the interview airs.

. . . there was a few people on here in the thread about him going a little crazy claiming his innocence and claiming anyone who said they saw him doing it were liars.

The point of which was to hammer home the fact that PROOF is what should be relied on, NOT hearsay and conjecture. Especially unreliable, are those whose revelations always seem to ‘coincidentally’ come out just as they’re about to launch a new book, and stand to benefit from the publicity.

Once again, it’s hardly “cheating” if everybody’s doing it - and with or without drugs, he STILL did amazing things.

If he did it then itt’s cheating. No way around it.  Read the rules, if he doesn’t like the rules then he needs to set up his own tour and get all smack happy on that.

You say everybody else is doing it but ‘PROOF is what should be relied on, NOT hearsay and conjecture’. I am sure there are some that aren’t using drugs just like I am sure there are some using. Are you accusing Cadel Evans of using drugs? If you are then you are doing exactly what you are arguing against, accusing someone without any proof. You can’t have it both ways.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Cadel was on the juice.

Am I directly accusing him, without any genuine proof, which is what the majority of people are doing to Lance? No, I am not.

When all aspects of the sport of professional cycling are considered, the layman’s simplistic “it’s against the rules” stance is naive at best.

Well you did say everyone is on the juice. Cadel is part of that everyone.

The ‘layman’ is the fans, without which you have no tour. Its not just against the rules its against what is expected by the fans.

The simple fact is as a fan, if Cadel wins a tour with no doping assistance then I rate that well above any doping assisted win.

Naive maybe, but i’ll never buy into the argument that because someone else is doing something wrong, its ok for me to do it as well.

Obviously, it was a figurative, not literal, “everyone”.

It’s precisely because it’s “what is expected by the fans” (the same fans who expect superhuman performances out of these cyclists) that the managing bodies keep what actually goes on behind the scenes quiet.

Any fan who thinks Cadel in his finest form would have been capable of winning the GC, drugs or no drugs, against the standard of riders competing when Lance was winning, drugs or no drugs, is kidding themself.

Most cyclist were on drugs. He just got caught.  Its also disappointing. But at least if beat cancer. Still something good about him.

Do you think that now he’s no longer doping, he’ll change his name to Lance Arm?
