Word of mouth is one of the best forms of Marketing that will make or break a Brand!!!!!
Yeah… As if apple could sell their computers for twice the price of an equivalent PC if they didn’t have such an awesome marketing team.
As if people would purchase one car over another because of reviews and advertisements.
If there was no marketing, you’d have egg on your face like Byron because you bought a Great Wall ute… lol
Apple are successful because they make a product that is easy to use!!!!!
Many will argue this (as always happens) but I talk from my experience with the product!!!!!
If it was shit I’d tell someone that it was shit!!!!!
Just like my Mercedes Benz that I have to get towed tomorrow, because it is of a poor build quality!!!!!
Whereas havin owned Subaru’s for the last 28 years have never been left on the side of the road once!!!!!
These guys are chasing funding for the dream, you pay your $185 and all going to plan you get a set of bindings in October 2013. I didn’t read indiegogo’s T’s and C’s but I don’t know what happens to the coin if the $100K goal isn’t reached in terms of refunds or anything like that. They may not need $100k but there will be a threshold in terms of funding they need to get to in order to actually make a single binding. Just food for thought guys is all.
Yeah… but there is a giant PC population that has been saying Mac’s are shit for years. Good marketing and an above average product keeps it as one of the market leaders.
There is Linux. Which is basically MacOS in a nutshell which runs way better on a PC that cost 1/2 the price and looks exactly the same and can be purchased for free and doesn’t need anti-virus. But isn’t in the same market as MacOS because there is no marketing and it’s slightly harder to use.
“Slightly Harder to Use”!!!!!
Is that what the consumer wants?????
Mizu!!! TJ!!!!!! Stop debating Mac v’s the rest of the world or else
This thread all is about me being pretentious for offering to test bindings for free
Azz u just wait till Chucky sees this lol
Bahahahaa!!!!!
Lets get back on topic.
Nthn makes a good point. They have done all this testing and while they probably don’t need 100k to get the project up and running, they probably need at least 1/4 of that amount to get a good start going.
At $185 per binding, they need to sell approximately 135 pairs of bindings to get 25k (which will be mostly used on making bindings.)
Then they need to promote these by going to open days (probably costs a fair amount to go in those) or promote other ways. Obviously getting people to share on Facebook is a good start but lets face it. If I posted on Facebook, you guys would be my main audience along with maybe 3-5 other people I know. Then you got things like Reddit / Youtube / Other Internet sources that need to go semi viral to get them off the floor.
Edit: This took longer to post than I expected and people posted in between

Bit slow today TJ
Yeah… As if apple could sell their computers for twice the price of an equivalent PC . . .
Apple don’t sell their computers for twice the price of “equivalent” PC’s - they sell products which are more than twice as good as the cheap crap other brands produce, at a price which reflects their relative superiority.
Almost all cars (for example) have four tyres, seats, steering wheel, engine etc. - but to call them “equivalent” simply because they share similar components is delusional at best.
Lets continue this on topic stuff.
I never bagged (or meant to bag out) on Apple, the point was to promote how well they market their product.
Twice as good? I can’t stop laughing right now. I built a media PC for myself for about $7-800 over 4 years ago, all I have done since is add HDD. It runs 24/7 and runs our 50"plasma for all TV, movie, dvd, bluray, downloads, youtube, music, interwebs browsing etc and hasn’t had any problems other than a motherboard swap about two years ago for $180. My mates and their Mac desktops however that they rely on to make a living have shit and raped themselves several times over in the same time period, one mate estimates that including purchase price on his Macs he has dropped over $20K in a similar period, one repair bill almost topped $2000. If your happy with Macs so be it but don’t rip on people whose PC’s do exactly what they need of them for a fraction of the price.
And BTW a Mac might be like comparing an Clubsport to a an SS, it aint no Ferrari to Excel comparo. It might be a bit better for certain things like repeatedly pulling up from 200kmh without brake fade on a circuit and 1metre ahead in the traffic light to traffic light battle but unless you’re into the added plastic bits and showier looks in the real world there’s bugger all in it other than a massive price hike.
Strewth!!!!!
