Or mine. Been trying for years to get her to the snow, and she just wont cooperate.
She reckons she’ll only come to the snow if I take her to Switzerland.
Actually, maybe that’s a good thing. I quite like my boys trips to the snow.
Let them “not like the snow”.
Worst thing I did (in the long run) was get my misses to love the snow, instead of just hanging around the village when she went once a year.
Ended up moving to the snow and planning a life travelling winter-winter. But then they remember their old life and the whole fantasy falls apart as you realise she just doesn’t love the snow the way you do.
Stoked Torstein You’vedonethisbef-orgmo has been added to the 2013 Supernatural lineup!
Yeh just saw that on instagram. so stoked. Cant wait to see his take on the course!
Propose deano! Bring her in on a spouse visa.
doesn’t work like that, spaz.
Married or de-facto, it all works the same way & neither is looked upon more favourably than any other - process is the same.
You have to prove that you have been living together for at least 12 months consecutively. (less than 12 months, don’t even bother) You have to show leases, bills, car rego etc with both your names on it for the whole time you claim you’ve been together (joint bank accounts are really good - both put a bit of money in and pay your rent & buy food out of it), get stat decs from friends about their knowledge of your relationship, write stat decs about the history of your relationship together, have photos of you in different places, invitations to weddings or parties with both your names on, flight tickets from travels with both names and matching dates, she has to have a medical at a doctor sanctioned by the aus government etc etc.
Its not an easy process, it took us about 2.5-3mths to get it all together. Or you can pay a migration agent about 3K to do it…(and you still have to provide all the above to them so you pretty much pay them that much to fill in the forms for you)
That is why I suggested going to France for 12 months and collecting all that stuff as you go (as snowdragon also recommends). If it ends up not working out, you can just burn everything in a rage and it will be very cathartic…if you are still keen on her at the end of the 12 months, you can apply for the spousal visa nearly straight away and avoid the issues like the ones that nthn’s sister is having.
If she is in aus when she applies, she has to be in aus when it is granted….if she is outside aus when she applies, she has to be outside aus when it is granted. It can take fricken aaaaages to get a decision. We applied outside sweden and it took about 3 months. Have a friend with a brazilian girlfriend, theirs is nearly ready and it has been almost a year since they applied.
Orrr you can get a prospective marriage visa - which means you have to first prove your relationship, then get married within 9 months of her entering australia and then go through the above process afterwards to get a spouse visa.
None of it is easy, but if you are like us, its not even a question about whether to go through with it or not - you just do whatever you have to do so you can be together!
Bit of a bummer having to go through all that just because somebody elses greed has stuffed it for everybody else who genuinely wants to marry someone from another country. If she’s under 30 and has a job in a skills shortage area couldn’t she come in on a sponsored work visa for 3 years? That would be the easiest way.
last I knew the wait for sponsored work visas was pretty damn long! Worth looking into to see if her field of work is in demand for sure, though.
You can also get in on a student visa if she’s willing to enrol in some lame course for the heck of it. But I think there is a limit to how many hours a week you are allowed to work.
Sunday, such a good Sunday. Woke up, picked up the Gary Elkerton autobiography about 8:30am after waking up nice and late, read it for about an hour. Girlfriend left for a work conference about 9:30am, best mate rang, went and had a 45min SUP in Pittwater followed by cafe brekky in Mona. Went checked the surf afterwards and ended up having a fun surf till about 2ish. Went to the pub with same best mate and had a few lazy Sunday beviies. Another mate walked in and tells me that apparently I’ve been tearin the the bag down the local on my board according to a mutual friend who lifeguards down there, nice to get props in a roundabout way like that. Also nice to have captive audience a la local lifeguards who know you ha ha! Went to braza for dinner with best mate and feasted on meat and had more bevvies, Sundays were meant to be like this, STOKED!
Jealous!
I spent my sunday cleaning my apartment due to the inspection i have on Monday…fun!
How good is braza??? I took a friend to the darling harbour one the Sunday before new years.. He was down from qld for 4 nights over Nye.. He LOVED it..
and nbg.. I’ll swap ya.. Sunday is ky Monday and I worked 6am till 5:30pm.. Lame! Haha
but to add to being stoked.. My mum wants to come down the snow with her best friend next season.. They won’t ski or board, I’ll prob get them the sight seeing pass ( ski tube up the hill and 1 round trip on the perisher quad to mid station.. And that’s a walk on pass.. No gear required.) As mums friend had a knee reconstruction last year and mum won’t board or ski.. Mums friends husband will more than likely try and so will there son.. (I was talking to him about it the other night.. His 17 and hasn’t seen snow yet) can’t wait to show mum what is quite possibly my favorite place in the world! (and we don’t get to go away together much.. Last time was mum my sister and Nan in qld in like 2008.. So this will be like a mini family holiday - cos Mr.h0z will be there ( and more than likely the usual group. ) and mums best friend I’ve know since I was 5 (went to school with one of her other sons )
btw 144 days till the seasons starts haha getting more stoked!!
You’d be better off takin them to Thredbo, h0z?????
Mid station = perisher. I think she has a season pass.
There is a much better village at threadbo for them to walk around / not be bored lol
Stoked I don’t have a hangover today or feel preggers from Braza!
or feel preggers from Braza!
Usually at Braza Mizu I eat so much meat that it feels like I’m pregnant with a meat baby, its a very unpleasant sensation!
