New / First Board

Avatar

Hey rider, I would be interested if you don’t mind finding out for me.

Only thing is I’m currently up north for work, scheduled back in Brisbane Saturday 19th. I’d like to get home first and confirm my boot size (it’s a Salamon i think). Maybe also get into the local store and try on some bindings with the boots.

Are there much differences between models from year to year? I see the STM site has some 2011/2012/2013 Rome 390’s in stock. As well as some 2012/2013 Burton Cartels. What would you say the differences between those 2 bindings are?

Could you also confirm which model the Westmark is? I’m assuming 2012. Just would also like to check out the graphic of the board and possibly match the binding colours raspberry

I also wear light grey pants with a purple/yellow strip down the sides if that matters (fashion statement much?!?!?).

I also ride goofy with a -12 LF/+15-18 RF (can’t exactly remember, one of my lesson instructor’s changed the angles on top of one of the runs).

The arbor westmark is a sick board!

Ive got the 2012 159 model & its awesome. Spent 2 months last season in whistler & the majority of this season on it. It handles really well in the powder & it’s loads of fun in the park whether it’s learning some jibbing or hitting the kickers it can pretty much handle anything.

I’m probably nearing 100 days on it (which is the average life of a board) & it’s still going strong! Super durable.

Highly recommend this purchase shaka

hey blackbanana, thx for that! just wondering what your height/weight/boot stats are? maybe riding style as well? im thinking of the 156 Westmark for my self

195cm
75kg
size 10 boot

My riding style would be a mix of park / freestyle / pow. Which is why this board was an awesome first board. All rocker & flex rating of 4 is great for buttering / jibbing, it was nice & stable off the kickers & of course it floats in the powder.

Just spoke to the store. Because you are a BW member, they will drop the price down to $450 including free shipping.

I’m finding out whether the Westmark is 2012 or 2013. They said they would text me a photo. I’m guessing it’s 2013.

Both those bindings are sick. Two of the best sellers on the market. It really comes down to personal preference. I’ve always considered the Cartel to be the best all-rounder and best value for money. Plus the Burton Cartel has Re:flex - giving you more natural flex under your feet and better board feel (significant advantage if you ask me). That said, you can’t go wrong with either.

hey mate. thx for everything. could you possibly see what colour is on the bottom of the bottom of the board as well.
also im keen on these bindings : http://stmonline.com.au/Rome-390-CyanGrey-2013

I’m thinking a L/XL will fit my boot. I’m pretty sure it’s a US11 or UK 44.5. I might be able to get someone to check tonight.
Let me know how much the bindings would be with the board. Thank you very much.

Hey mate,

The store can do the bindings for $300 (with free shipping), so $750 total with the board including shipping.

This is the model (2013).
