can anything stay on topic here.
So Kyle wants a new board to add to my quiver. I currently have brand new 162 Capita black snowboard of death which is sick for powder / carving & an 159 Arbor Westmark which is used for basic park & teaching but its getting pretty old now its probs seen over 100 days riding. So i’m feeling its time to get a total jib board!
Specs im currently looking for are - soft (flex about 2-3), size about 156-158, twin, rocker or flat.
I’ve sussed out a few so far such as;
158 Arbor Draft - rocker, twin, flex 3
The 2013 design looks pretty sick which is a positive.156 Rome Artifact rocker - flat/rocker, twin, flex 3
The only negative is the design is a bit lame.156 Saloman Salomonder - flat, twin, flex 3
Design is pretty sick, one of my mates has the exact same board so not too sure if i’d get it.If anyone has rode any of these boards & has any feedback that would be sweet. Or any other board suggestions that are similar to the specs would be appreciated.
Out of those, my pick would be the Rome Artifact Rocker.
Firstly, I think the 156 is a better jib board size for you (you already have a 159, get something noticeably shorter). Secondly, it is flat between the feet; exactly what you want in a rail board. This would be my pick, based on the fact you’re looking for a jib board and it’s your second board.
It’s a personal choice whether you support a ski/snowboard company or a snowboard-only company. It means something to some people, it doesn’t to others. This debate could go on forever.
Let’s leave it at that and keep this thread on topic. Feel free to start another thread if you wish.
Do you like icecream Lanox?
Tryin to lure him into the van hey?????

i bet i know what ice cream you like K2
The 153s are his mountain/powder boards.. And stepchild is only 2cms smaller as its his park board.. And the box scratcher he got that size cos he jumped on my 145 roxy olliepop and did a few jumps for a laugh/to see what it was like.. And he fell in love with it.. So he went a bit smaller than normal.. This will be his main park/jib board now..
him and a friend were even talking about getting either a chicks board or a kids larger board.. (140-145) CMS to just muck around in the park on..
but he saw the box scratcher.. Looked into the into on it.. Talked to a few people in store about it and fell in love..also his about average height and heaps thin.. So he can get away with the smaller board.. ( his 178cms and about 55-57kgs) lol!
well, he’s got it covered now with that 147, but if he wanted a smaller board, the answere was easily be a nug/root/harvest/super hero. As small as kids boards, but made for adults
a friend of ours has the nug in 145 (same size as my board.. And his similar proportions to mr.h0z maybe a few kgs heavier) and doesn’t mind it but has a bit of trouble with it.. (might just be him though) and he got the channel system.. Mr.h0z and I aren’t fans of being held in by 2 vertically aligned screws and apposed to 4 spread evenly over the binding and his a massive fan of Mervin manufacturing ( Mainly lib tech.. As he likes the tech and how the boards are designed etc.. - just personal preference I guess)

Hrmmm is there a big difference between the flat & the rocker for jibs?
I would say i’m more leaning towards the arbor draft / capita horrorscope. Even though it shouldn’t, when boards are quite similar i always go with my favourite design.
Why don’t ya go the 155 in the Draft then?????
How much do ya weigh in at, BB?????
‘bout 75-80kg. 6 foot 4
Weight range for the 155 Draft goes up to 88kgs!!!!!
Plus like rider said, ya got ya bigger board for days when ya ridin the rest of the mountain!!!!!
Freddy is the same weight range as you, BB and he rides his draft in a 150!

personaly if i was going to get jib board i would go smaller in size.
my pow board is 155, the jib board i am getting it will be 152 or 153 and i am aroun 75- 80 kg 182cm
He could lano, but the one thing I see is that even with the 155 he will not only be steppin down from what he rides already, but he will also be on something that has a lot more flex in it than he normally rides!!!!!
Unless he test ride it first, it may be somethin that is so unusual to ride, he may not enjoy it or get the feel for it!!!!!
Plus BB has been gettin his stuff dialed in on the bigger board already!!!!!
Just my Loose Change Menu’s worth!!!!!
