I recently started having some issues with my Ride bindings and I had to share because I doubt I’m the only one….
I went out this weekend twice and both days I had multiple situations where I my ankle strap came loose during/after a jump it was so freaking frustrating especially because it was a multiple jump setup so once that happen I was sol and had to pass up the rest of the jumps, and it happen once last weekend too but only once so I didn’t think much of a it.
What’s causing this is not the buckles, its the toolless length adjusting leveler thing it keeps coming undone and then the strap gets loose. Has anyone experienced this yet??? I also think it has something to do with the amount of extra strap that I have available from the adjustment point because it just sticks out there on top and if it is moved or hit it might press the lever and open it.
Also another issue I’m having is the rubber webbing is coming off from the toe straps that is more or a cosmetic issue more then anything else but it sucks for a 300$ pair of bindings that are barely a year old
I sent a email to Ride I will post updates once I get this hopefully resolved.
Sounds to me like Gaffa tape is about to become your new best friend!
Take it to the store where you bought it. Cosmetic issues aren’t covered, but if your straps keep coming undone it might be covered by warranty.
It also sounds like you might need shorter ladders for your straps. Ride might be able to send you shorter ladders if you feel that is causing the problem.
Is it done up tight? If it’s like I remember you can spin the screw to tighten the ladder.
And yes the webbing always does that. It wasn’t made as one piece and I would be inclined to say they won’t warranty for the loose webbing.
Thanx guys yeahh I’m still waiting on Ride to respond back to me but considering the holiday i see why they haven’t ill give them a couple days and depending on what they tell me ill bring it back to the retailer, but shorter ladders would definitely help because there would be that much sticking out of the part that’s not being used. As for the webbing I say screw it
This is a known fault with some Ride models. I had mine assessed for warranty and when they were deemed faulty Ride replaced my bindings with the 2013 model. If you have a warranty just take it back to the store so they can send it to Ride. If you don’t have a warranty…well, better luck next time.
Spoke to Ride today they want me to take it to a local retailer to verify that it is still under warranty even though I have all the paperwork from my purchase they are really making this into something time consuming when all I need is some parts ordered. Also it’s going to be pointless for them to order replacement parts when I need shorter ladders as Rider mentioned, I’m going tomorrow hope all goes well if not ill be looking for another company for my bindings because me going through all this after a year is nuts and you would think they would make this process a little easier then they do. Maybe the Rome Targa they come with a 2 year warranty compared to one. Any one have any experience with Rome’s customer service ?
If all you want is shorter ladders, than just chop them off yourself.
Yeahhhh decided to go a different route Rome Targa or 390 Boss?? For mid to big kickers and also some all mtn shredding? I like the adjustability on the Targa but then again they are on the stiffer end more free ride driven it seems any thoughts ?? I know the Targas are on the stiffer end but have the ability to adjust the stiffness in the ankle strap is a nice feature don’t know how effective or important that might be… The 390 Bose are mid stiff more part oriented not as many adjustability possibilities…. I don’t know any ideas here guys?
All depends on what board ya gonna bolt them to?????
Stiffer Board = Stiffer Binding!!!!!
Softer Board = Personal Preference in Flex!!!!!
Evil twin stiff!
Just because you have a stiff board doesn’t mean you need a stiff binding - Especially if you’re taking it into the park. Out of those two options I’d go for the 390 Boss - But only because of what I know of them through friends and I would be spending more time in the park.
I hear the 390 boss are great for park but I don’t do to much jibbing or rails mainly dialing in jumps now and that in mind and the size jumps I’m working on i was thinking of going with the stiffer bindings but hey I’m all ears if you guys have any objections do tell
A stiff board needs a responsive binding in order to control, and use the boards attributes to it’s utmost as it was meant to be ridden?????
The Evil Twin is a mid range flex, so either the 390 Boss or the Targa will suit!!!!!
As I said, therein lies the personal preference in flex!!!!! If ya like Stiff/Responsive then go the Targa!!!!! If it’s some Mid Range Flex that has a little forgiveness, go the 390’s!!!!!

Yeahh that’s the million & the question I can’t choose I leaning toward the Targa just because I would want a bindings I can do some all mountain riding with too because the only other binding I have is the Now bindings which are great but not too much field testing done by me yet and I have a pair of Saloman Holograms that I recently picked up that are on the softer end so the Targa might do the trick for what I’m planning on doing with them. Also big kicker required some solid bindings Targas might work great there too… No?
Yep!!!!!
