Bondi - Would you leave the water?
Not me.
TV news says the Westpack heli couldn’t confirm the type or size even though a lifeguard said it was large and people on land said they thought they saw a big shark.
This follows a surfboard being knocked by a 2.5m Great White at DeeWhy on Sunday that the media keep saying was an attack.
We were on the beach but not in the water at the time. I would have got out of the water though. I guess there’s the element of the unknown when you hear the alarm; you don’t know what shark it is, how big it is, or where it is. There’s no harm in hopping out of the water for a few minutes to find out the situation. I spoke to one of the lifeguards and he said the Offshore (big yellow patrol boat) spotted a 6ft shark on the north point near Ben Buckler.
We did get straight back into the water once the heli gave clearance. Here’s a couple of photos I took.

yea i would get out, why would you make the lifeguards jobs harder than they already are?
Yeah, I’d get out too!!!!!
I’ve only ever seen (100% sure) two sharks when I’ve been in the surf, and both times I’ve gotten out!!!!! I know it’s always “the one that ya don’t see is the one that gets ya”, but any wild critter can be unpredictable!!!!!
