Ride Sage boots

Avatar

Hey guys need some urgent advice and/or opinion on the above boots/brand.

My friend spent several hours trying on boots and couldn’t decide so for these as they were cheap than the K2’s

Hubby has just said that in the 90’s the brand Ride was crap.

Not very many reviews online to compare.

She needs to decide in the next 2 hours whether to take em.

Ride is a leading brand. I haven’t had much experience with their boots but I would imagine they would at least be decent, depending on the model.

The real question is, how does it fit her feet? Is it snug, comfortable, the correct size, no heel lift, no pressure points etc? This is a much better indication on whether the boots are good for her. The brand name really doesn’t mean too much - it’s all on the fit, flex and comfort.

Actually, I just looked up that model. It has a single BOA. Personally I would avoid at all costs. That’s my honest opinion.

EDIT: To give a bit of an explanation, in my experience I have seen a lot of boot fit issues cause by single BOA systems. It’s one system that tightens the whole boot, doing most the tightening at the top and not allowing a customised fit in different areas of the boot. Causes blow-outs at the ankle and pressure points elsewhere.

Thanks Rider, pretty much what I said!

But yeah single boa was also discussed but they were the best fit so what can you do!

The main issue I have with single BOA is that they are only good for like 50 days riding. If they fit well at the start, it’s likely they will be awesome for the first 25 days, average for the next 15-20 and then ridable for another 10 or so. After that, you’re really needing new boots to get more than 1h days out of them.

You mean single boa or boa in general I’ve had mine for about 2 seasons (DC status duel BOA) and definitely put more then 25 full days with them and no issues, what exactly starts happening if you don’t mind me asking ?

I have noticed they are getting a bit looser structurally but they still stiff in my opinion, meaning no compaints

pretty sure TJ is referring to single boa, here….and having had some single boa DC boots, I have to agree wholeheartedly. If I ever went back to boa, I’d be getting a dual boa boot for sure.

No problems with double BOA. It’s just the single BOA systems that cause problems.
