Well all the skaters are becoming more and more hungover and losing a lot of motivation to do anything. I’m this close to moving to the Gold Coast! So hopefully i’ll be back into shooting skateboarding :D
Mildy awkward now hahaha so we finally went for a street skate to this new garden gap and hit an old favourite too!

Noah. Kickflip Indy. Monster Skatepark. 20/12/12.
This photo reminds me why Skateboarding is so great.
This is Noah. He is around 10 years old. One night last week he started trying kickflip indy’s over the funbox at Monster. He was no where close to landing the first few and had a few hard slams. Then he started getting close to actually pulling one off. All the other skaters in the park began to cheer him on and show their support.
There is a invisible bond that I believe all skaters share. Even though Skateboarding is not a team sport, there is a camaraderie that runs through it like no other sport on earth. In an instant the atmosphere in the park completely changes as Noah’s fellow skaters start to encourage him to keep going for it.
After another 4 or 5 attempts, empowered by the support of his peers, Noah lands one and rolls away like he’s done them a million times before. Everyone goes nuts. Hi-fives all round, pats on the back, skateboards thrown into the air in disbelief and joy. Genuine respect from skaters half his age, skaters twice his age, and a photographer three times his age, who used to skate.
Haven’t shot much lately, not for a lack of trying either.
Just returned from a trip to melbourne, with nothing.
Got this the first day back skating with the fellers through the city

should published photos be allowed in the comp? judges?
It wasn’t a published photo proper…it’s not like he was paid for it or anything. It was in the “exposure” section of slam, like reader submitted photos. Still fucking rad, definitely allowed in the comp though. Even if it were a paid photo I’d have no problems with it.
Thanks walker! Yeah I’m down for whatever, just let me know what’s kocher
got a couple from last weekend
