Found this during my hunt for a light canted freestyle binding, seems like a sweet design and all the review and videos I saw dont have a bad thing to say about it.. Just wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them well the new models because I hear the shadow fit has come a long way.
I’m considering the salomon hologram bindings and any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Looking to throw these in my Bataleon Evil Twin and hit the park
SHADOW FIT -
The new ShadowFit features a unique flexible heel loop and a fully anatomical fit to provide intuitive mobility without sacrificing performance with the strength of the Kevlar QuickWire. The result is an ultralight binding that allows you’re whole kit to flex together.

I’ve demoed this binding on a Powder Snake. Honestly, I couldn’t feel any difference at all.
What kind of riding were you doing when u demoed them? Park? Jumps?
Where you able to feel the flex side to side meaning when shifting tip to tail?
What is it that you most like about the footbed being canted, Lester?????
Just interested!!!!!
Well I’m not a park guy at all so I didn’t try it off jumps. I just did 2 runs just cruising down groomers, trying some presses and butters, a little ollie here and there. I seriously cannot feel the flex side to side.
Well I really took a liking to them when realized I can ride a wider stance without feeling like I’m extending out, it feels comfortable to me when I compare it to my Now bindings and I feel like I have more control of the board overall and also on landings, also it seems like i get more when i pop but thats lil hard to guage but one things that’s noticeable is when in shift weight from nose to tail it’s alot more effortless. I don’t mind the Now bindings because I don’t ride that wide in Pow feels like its not needed.
I currently have 2.5 wedges and 4.0 I ride the 4.0 the Salomon come with 2.5s but I think they will be fine

Gotcha thanx for the info, kinda a short test run though also any thoughts on how hey run size wise because M are for 7-10 and the L 10+ I’m a size 10 think M I think large would we too big like it was with the Now bindings
So it’s more so ya leg/knee/body position, than lateral movement?????
Yeah definitely the lateral movement is just a plus I think it would help the feel of the binding and freedom on grabs and in all honestly forgiveness tooo
Noticed that with Burton’s hinge system that they only offer on EST gotta love burton
I’ll cop flack for sayin this, but I’ve got broad shoulders!!!!!
Ya might wanna check out the Flux DS30, or the Flux DMCC Light, as they both have great lateral flex, that has some customisation, and use a similar setup as Burtons Hinge, by rounding out the outside edges of the baseplate!!!!! You can also add stabilisers to inside/outside or both to change this flex pattern!!!!!
Flux makes some sick bindings light as hell too, thats some good thinkin with thr stabilizer part but don’t do much with canted footbed i had to pass same for the great Union bindings
Yeah, no canted beds, that’s why I asked ya if it was lateral flex that ya were after!!!!!
Just got the Holograms and I think there’s some false advertising happening here it clearly says 2.5 degree canted footbeds and I looked at it every which way and I just don’t see any degree the footbeds look completely flat ??? I don’t know what’s up with that ?? Any ideas here and no there is no inserts just the footbeds thay come with the bindings no extras I know 2.5 ain’t that much but it’s enough to notice that’s for sure…. I will be calling Salomon first thing tomorrow cause something definitely off about this..
Recap on the Salomon Holograms : No canting and overall poor design on my opinion when compared side by side to Rome bindings that’s for sure, I feel like the Salomon bindings are going to fall apart on me, also adjustablity is limited and no forward lean adjustment sucks. Another thing is when you adjust the highback to line up with the edge it causes forward lean whether you want it or not also I feel like the design is good in theory just a cheap way it was achieved.
