haven’t been to the gym for a week now since I sprained my left hand (and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better anytime soon), Going to do a cardio kickbox class tonight so I feel less like a bum.

My training from Endo for the last few weeks, fair few kms in there.  BTW Kayaking = SUPing, they don’t have paddling as a sport to choose yet and Kayaking seems the most similar.

Hey Jez,Bikram is the hot one right?  I should really do Yoga of some description I reckon, especially considering my back dramas earlier this year!

Yeah, it gets really hot in there. I think it’s close to 40 degrees and very high humidity. 90 minute session, 26 set poses. It’s great for balance, strength (back especially), cardio fitness and amazing for flexibility. It’s honestly the best thing I’ve ever done for my body. I rate it highly. I’ve done a few different types of yoga and I definitely find Bikram to be most beneficial, at least for me.

This is where I go: http://www.purebikram.com.au/

Did a 45 minute reformer pilates session and swam 1km today.

What is Bikram Yoga?

Bikram Yoga is a demanding series of 26 postures (asanas) and two breathing exercises (pranayamas), which is suitable for all ages and levels of ability.

Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. The Bikram method also stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order.

Bikram scientifically designed this 90-minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss, and limit the effects of aging. In addition, the series of postures combine skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control that increase mental clarity and reduce stress.

Bikram yoga is done in a heated room to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.
