Try telling my daughter that!
And;
“We’ve suspended your payment for not attending an interview” - daughter had an emergency dental appointment, I was at work and I needed to register my daughter for dancing classes AND I called my case manager letting him know.
Response: “but it wasn’t during the time your daughter is in your care (refer to previous WTF) and you keep giving different reasons for not attending, you have to attend interview or be cancelled, when can you attend?”
Me; “I can’t until the new year since I have my daughter in my care until then - refer to the court orders I supplied you.”
More;
(Yesterday) To avoid being cancelled drove 120km to attend interview.
Case manager; “Why did you have to do that?” “had to drop daughter to school, come here and now go back to school for presentation day and it was the only time I can make it within court orders.”
(I could have spent the 2.5hrs <strike>surfing</strike> waiting at the school - saving fuel/time/stress).
Me (to my case manager); “So when you didn’t turn up to our last 2 appointments was your government pay suspended?”
Case manager; “Umm… errrr… no, Oh… ok… yeah. I’m re-instating your payments. - Centrelink made the appointment, not us! We (and you) have to meet Centrelink obligations.”
Me: “Your system isn’t aligned with Centrelink, you say I have to work 15hrs/week - Centrelink say 12.5. I’m working 20/week, in 2 jobs and I’m a dad”
Response; “but your only a dad 35% of the time.” !!!
No! I’m a father 100% of the time!!!
