This is a course check of this years Air & Style with Chas Guldemond.
I’ve always liked Chas, he just seems like a cool guy that’s been competing for a long time. Good to see him finally getting some wins these days. His style is very polished, can’t wait to see the event!
“Do a Method!”
“I can’t I’m too young!”
WOH! Amazing results in the Air & Style!!! You won’t believe the things that happen.
My brain actually melted a little.
I don’t want to say what happened and ruin it for you, but you really should watch it. E>P>I>C
The less talking the better me thinks. That was painful.
Do you have a link to some highlights? “E>P>I>C” means I am feeling liked i missed out.
Well I watched it when it was playing live, so last night there weren’t any highlights videos to post.
But I’ll have a look around and see if they have made any yet. If I find one I’ll throw it up here.
*Edit*
There’s only a few single run vids up at the moment.
I would rather wait and throw up a proper highlight reel when they release it. I don’t want to just post one run and then kill the results for people.
Must suck having to wear a stupid Rockstar or Monster hat wherever you go…
I heard something about triple corked 1440s? should be good to see!
Yep, that’s the one. I was waiting for the whole highlights reel to be released but oh well.
This kid is 16 and he just joined the triple cork club. I think he’s probably 1 of 4 in the world that can do it now (give or take). Crazy.
The big upset of the night (for me at least) was this was the first time a triple cork was ever thrown in Air & Style history. But not by Yuki.
Mark McMorris landed a triple cork (making history) in the knockout rounds before the final. And the other guy knocked him out?! WTF???
The guy he was vs. was Matias Someone or other. And he was doing the same trick over and over.
He was doing a Single rodeo with spins afterwards, and the judges were calling it a double?? (Even the commentators called bullshit in more polite terms)
Then Mark came out and landed a Triple, and because one hand touched the snow they scored him lower than the other kid’s single rodeo.
You have got to be kidding me! When Shaun White puts a hand down they gave him a perfect 100 run.
Luckily the whole comp was so rad that I stopped thinking about poor Mark and enjoyed the rest.
Did I mention that Yuki’s Triple cork was the last run of the night? What a finish! If he had landed a triple cork before this, he certainly didn’t tell anyone.
Overall, like I said, Pretty damn epic. All of Stale’s & Peetu’s tricks are worth watching too. Both those guys land their tricks sooooo clean.
Here’s the 2nd and 3rd place runs from Stale and Peetu.
I don’t know why TTR don’t release a video of the final. The final only took about 15 minutes. It’s so much better than just seeing one run at a time, and already knowing the result from the video title.
Meh, whatever. Enjoy
Yeh Sorry Andy. I looked for a highlights clip and couldn’t find one. I figured people would find out anyway.
Personally I think a 30min highlights clip would have been perfect….build up the suspense etc. In little grabs its not as exciting.
Yeah, you just don’t get the excitement of the comp at all.
They must think we have the attention span of goldfish these days.
Well, I do, but not when it comes to snowboarding
I prefer 3-5 minutes highlights of the competition. I wish Shaun would’ve competed, or maybe just do a guess appearance hit a jump or two.
