I got my iPhone 5 last week, and so far Im still a bit undecided. the battery seems to be worse than that of my 4. Wifi seems a lot slower, and struggles to connect. And I’ve heard that the new apple maps on IOS 6 are crap.
On the other hand the camera is awesome! And the bigger screen is good, and they are a lot lighter and look sweet in black
Bear in mind I don’t use half the features on the phone and have no idea how much of the stuff even works lol.

. . . I’ve heard that the new apple maps on IOS 6 are crap. . .
They’re definitely flawed in some areas, but I’m loving the new maps! It’s soooooooo much faster that last time I used Google maps, and FAR more accurate! After hearing all the bad reports, I was surprised to see that although Google Maps just sort of placed me in the general vicinity of the neighbourhood I was in, Apple Maps quickly locked in on not only my building, but the exact location of my apartment within it!
waiting patiently for the SGS3 4G, will decide after that.
I think this came out last week or the week before mudhoney
Coming to Telstra on 9th October.
going to break down and get one (for the gps app, for backcountry riding).
what cases do you guys use? I’ve spent 2 hours (at work ) so far looking through all the cases online but can’t find a clear winner. Don’t want something like a lifeproof or otterbox. Will prob get a waterproof bag for riding
work pays for it don’t have the case and iphones are good for beer opening.
k, I’ve heard no case works too. how about a screen protector film.
friggin hated putting one on my ipad - got so much dust under it
Don’t bother, keep it in a seperate pocket to your keys/coins and enjoy the phone the way it was designed to be used.
even having no film?
Yeah the films just make them feel/look worse and you are really only protecting it for the person you give the phone to in two years time. Enjoy the phone as it is. My 2 year old Galaxy S2 doesn’t have a single scratch on the screen and I’ve never had a film on it. It’s also done many snow/beach trips during that time.
I’m not a huge fan of Apple but they do spend a lot of time on the design of the phone and getting the overall thickness and dimensions down. It baffles me as to why people then hide them in a $10 plastic case that doubles the thickness.
Yeah, I just got a cheap cover that wraps the back, sides and just the edges of the glass at the front!!!!!
I’m with DRC too, why spend the dough on a really schmick screen, then cover it up with gladwrap?????
If ya really have to, clean the glass first, then use a sticker to “grab” any residual dust, then apply a wetting agent (glass cleaner is good, just be careful to avoid getting it into the home button/speaker), then squeegee out the excess fluid and leave to dry!!!!!

Yeah, the scratch resistance on the latest smart phones is unreal!!!!!
I don’t put a “Screen Protector” on the front as they scratch much easier than the actual screen and they look horrible.
I do have a case (with a Boston Bruins logo on it) because work puts an asset tag on the phones and I’d prefer not to show off an ugly bright blue sticker on the back of my phone.
Have you got an Instagram Feed, Gumblor?????
Interesting convo above.
I agreed with the design and don’t have a case for my bb BUT i do have a screen protector and like the matte screen better than the gloss screen. You don’t notice the finger tip marks.
I am obsessive compulsive about those - the Nexus is doing my head in as I haven’t got one going to get one in the states, along with a cover like and ipad one so it can stand alone etc.
I do have a cover and screen protector on the kindle though.
Gamb if i where you get white iphone 5 otherwise be prepared to see every little scratch on back of the phone….
other then that dont bother with any covers ...
