GoPro HERO 3

Avatar

Hi,

“If you have cancelled your GoPro Hero 3 order, please disregard this stock update.

We will be receiving limited stock tomorrow(!) of the Hero 3 Black Edition. We estimate we will have enough stock to fill existing orders that were placed on or before 17th November. The stock is likely to arrive late tomorrow, so it is unlikely we will be able to despatch most orders until this Thursday. All going well, most should be delivered overnight and received on Friday.

No Hero 3 accessories have been released yet, so if you ordered your Hero 3 with additional accessories, these will be charged and sent at a later date so we don’t hold up the camera.

We are expecting another shipment of cameras in the next 1-2 weeks, but are still waiting to hear how many more units we will be receiving, so we can estimate up to what order dates we can fill our 2nd shipment. “

i just got that today, i ordered on the 8/11/12.. so 11 days before the first shipment cut off.. so theoretically… i should have mine by monday.. at the latest? (maybe tuesday.. cos their head office is in brissy…)

ill let you guys know as soon as its in my hands! smile

Thats pretty good customer service there, they’re definitely aware of the fact that a lot of people who pre ordered would be aware of the lack of units being sent out here.

JB has a few units but they are very scarce.  A guy at work who is very keen to get one before a rafting trip in mid-Dec managed to find one at JB in Sydney (he’s in Melb).  Since I am travelling to Sydney for work tomorrow I am going to pick it up for him while I’m there.

I’m going to all JB hifi stores within reasonable distance tomorrow and buying what I can.

It’s such a pity about the battery life; at best its 1.5hrs (without using wifi), and if using wifi the camera battery will drain faster than the remote - the remote doesn’t last an hour, the remote is WiFi.

I’ve been reading about freezing issues when it encounters low light and issues with memory cards.

Customer demand and lack of availability has pushed the price of Black through the roof!
I can get Black now but at a cost of $570 - $670
If you are lucky enough to find one at JB Hi Fi their discounted price is $485 (advertised at $498).
big surprise

Yeah that’s it mizu, jb are great for negotiating with for pretty much anything

shaka

Actually I reckon they’re nowhere near as flexible as they used to be.  They’ll negotiate down a little, but not the crazy amounts they used to do.

They just told me that they will match any Bricks and Mortar deal!!!!!

They did say (openly and honestly) that they can’t match some online deals due to them not paying taxes etc etc!!!!! Which is fair enough really!!!!!

Here is a copy from JB HIFI Terms and Conditions; “if you’ve seen any price difference between our online store and a bricks’n’mortar JB HIFI store. We will always match the price for you.”

They will only match other JB HIFI store prices!

No, that is a separate thing completely, and refers to any price discrepancy between their online and bricks and mortar stores advertised prices!!!!!

So why wont they sell Black below $485?

Avatar

So if you’re theory is correct, why have they told you they will sell it for $485 when the advertised price is $498?????

Maybe $485 is the lowest that they can go at the moment?????

I’m sure if you can supply a competitors fair dinkum quote, they will match it!!!!!

12. WHY DO PRICES DIFFER BETWEEN YOUR WEBSITE AND YOUR STORES?
Prices of online items should match JB Hifi stores at all times. Occasionally there may be a time lapse between store prices synching with our online database and vice versa. Please drop us an email HERE. if you’ve seen any price difference between our online store and a bricks’n’mortar JB HIFI store. We will always match the price for you.

Yeah, it was more a rhetorical question (shouldn’t have added the “?”).

Believe me, I’ll be going in there with bricks’n'mortar quotes - most are below rrp. At minimum I expect them to match retail pricing.

If $485 is the lowest they can go I suspect they imported the product themselves and didn’t go through an authorised supply chain. If they did get it through authorised distribution agent they are pushing the price up because of demand. What ads to my suspicion is the distributor told me only surf/snow/motorsport/MTB retailers are being supplied Black!

It’s raised many questions!! Questions that produce rage so ignoring them and flowing with it is my best option. And having to spend more than required to build customer relations.

Adds to my frustration toward GoPro as that money is set aside to purchase DriftHD Ghost. But the customers insist on GoProHero3-Black!

Interestingly my dad went into JB to purchase a TV he had seen online.

Funny the sale price was an “online only” offer and the would not match it!

Wonder what that means for the above?
