the Devo thread!!

Wow there’s some crazy talk in here that I can only put down to spending too much time in Canberra!

The weather today was absolutely amazing (and still is) the best we’ve had for a while.

Spent pretty much the entire day at the beach in and out of the water whenever I needed to cool off. Fruit smoothie for lunch and about to go for a bike ride and pick up some fish and salad for dinner.

I would be perfectly happy with every day being like this until the point I have to wave goodbye to the sun/summer for a month in chilly Japan.

If it does come back to life I’d write down your contacts just in case. Brought mine back, but when the battery went down the last time it refused to recharge downer

Apple product, backed up to iCloud, old phone rocking it just like the one that went swimming, although slower smile

Drying and getting the iPhone working doesn’t mean it fixed. Within a week the fine copper wiring deteriorates if the water was able to soak right in. I reckon it mostly depends on how long submersion was - when I destroyed my iPhone it was left in a glass of water for a few hours, not just a quick dunking.

Fortunately Apple will replace iPhones at cost (4s $250) - been there done that.

Yeah, its pretty much doomed downer

Although, I have had iPods that have been through the washing machine, then dryer and still worked for another four years before the battery shat itself, so there is hope !!!

This one was in the drink for about 5 seconds, in a case, a little water came out of the earphone and connector plugs (a few drops) When I removed the SIM it was dry…...... be interesting to see if it fires up again smile

Were the iPods older ones? before Apple started dieting their portable devices? Less metal = less weight and copper is metal.

They are pretty decently sealed. If you got it out quickly you might be ok. Definitely straight into the rice zip lock bag and hope for the best!

The iPod was the ones that have been around for a few years, just been outdated in the last 12 months.

Time will tell smile

I am loving the heat! spending all day at the beach, then at the pub sinking beers in the fading light. Good times!

Devo my biggest money making job of the year (on Sunday) resulted in very average sales being made (half of the lowest takings I’ve ever pulled).
Couldn’t afford to get all the dental work I was booked in for yesterday - had to cancel the 3 crowns, I did end up with 4 fillings! Meaning I saved spending $2700 per crown and spent an hour less in the dental chair.
Jaw still aching this morning from all the needles.
Can’t each hard foods like nuts, it will break the fillings, until crowns are in.

Walking out into the thunderstorm was pretty awesome with it echoing of the cityscape, but driving home in peakhour… not so.

Devo’ed for anyone who has to drive peakhour each day - sucks to be you.
