Haven’t had the chance to instal some dampers into the mount. But you get the idea of where it’s at now smile

Mate that’s looking really good!!
Can’t wait to see you following riders! Have you been trying to mimic the flight of following a rider off a jump?

Thanks k2!

I’ve been trying a few different things, backward and sideways flying, it’s hard to mimic a reaction to change when you yourself are predicting that change haha. Have seen a lot of improvement just being out there as many days as I can to lay down the flight count. Definitely excited to have some things to target during flights!

RC Heli’s are awesome fun, expensive little buggers though.

I bought a JR Venture 30 which is a nitro heli a few years back as part of a engagement present for me, figured it was only fair if she got a ring i got something to.

Hows your hovering going.  Probably the most important skill i probably spent about 5 hours just hovering moving forward a few metres back to a hover, fly backwards to orignal spot…sideways etc etc.

Does your heli have a heading hold gyro ?

I ended up giving it to my dad when i sold my car as it was to hard to get to somewhere i could fly it with just a motorbike smile

Thinking i might buy a small electric though.  Ill put it on the list behind all the snowboard gear i need to buy

Yeah it’s a blast to fly.  Yeah the gyro is heading hold (It’s an Align 3gx gyro.. known to have some problems but so far been good). Hovering is probably getting past the beginner stage now, fairly confident to hold it in a 5m radius, at a level height. Nose in and sideways also. Most of that development came from flying the Phoenix Sim, and transferring practice there to the real heli was surprisingly effective.

Got a think 10 flights on it now, so probably only close to 2hrs in the air all up. I’m lucky to live next to the park so I get out there whenever it isn’t too windy, plenty more sessions to go before I can claim competency haha.

Yeah there are some good 450/550 size electrics now that are cheap and perform well! Were you flying your nitro 3D or sport?

Dude, that is seriously awesome! So stoked with how it’s progressing! grin

Did you get any video of Waterloo Skatepark?

yeah going good! nah just took stills that day, tight spot to manoeuvre for video and there were a few kids around I didn’t want to crash into haha

The heli was setup for 3D but i was just flying it sport.  and was practicing 3D in the sims (hehe alot cheaper if you screw up) but sold the car before i could put some serious time into it.
