Show us your best grip tape art! This is my friend’s. Nothing crazy but it looks pretty cool imo

Looks cool!!!!!
Just remember though kids, DON’T cut the tape (stanley knife) while it’s stuck to the deck!!!!!
That does look cool. But I usually just prefer a plain grip. If I were to put any lines into it, it would be one subtle one and for the purpose of marking the nose from tail.
Though some decks have a really cool top deck graphic which can be a shame to cover up. So sometimes it looks good to have that exposed
hay guys and girls.
grip tape art work is fun with the right tools.
paint pens are expansive and pant and brush is hard to get fine lines.
i use 3 methods spray can/paint pen and paint brush.
ive been doing grip art for ever.
here is a video with some artworks ive done in the past.
enjoy.

yeah Mitch, I saw the grip art at the start of that vid. Pretty sick dude. How about a timelapse vid of you making the art? Could be cool to intersperse with skate footie
It’s not exactly grip tape art, but it is skate art at least
I made this setup for Nikky, my gf at the time. She’s a member on here but I don’t think she posts much anymore.
nice!
hey, saw this thread and thought i’d add to it, did this today… i havent riden a skateboard in about 10 years.. but since falling so inlove with snowboarding.. i need something to do to distract me from the snow having melted and havinf 7 months till next season.. so im giving skating another go.. but me being me.. (as you guys will soon learn.. ) i have to customise everything and make it my own.. and i love doing arty things.. and love being different..
so here the the underside of my deck.. with a space scape/galaxy/milkyway like painting
grip tape will be next week hopefully.. thinking a tropical sunset for that,
sorry they aren’t the best photos.. just snapped a few on my phone white it was drying.. so its super glossy and reflecting all the trees outside etc,
before..
sanded back,
after
also, Andy.. did you paint the trucks on that board for your then gf? and how did the paint last? i was thinking of painting mine.. but wasnt too sure if it was worth it?
when i get some better pics ill post them up
OK, now that its dry and inside i have better pictures!
so here they are:
and what it will look like when the trucks/ wheels are back on.. (but not for a while yet, letting the bottom harden more over the next few days, then painting the top/grip tape next weekend..)
Looks cool, might want to put the trucks on the right way before you go skate though. (kingpins facing in)
Haha I will, I just shoved them ontop to see what it looked like.. They aren’t even screwed in =)
That is some nice artwork hoz.
Thanks C J i should be doing the grip tape today so ill post that when im done!

still a bit wet when i took the pics.. so there is some glare..
Wow that’s epic hOz! Good Job!
As for the trucks - Yep I sprayed them black and yellow. I just took them apart to do it so you don’t spray the bushings etc. It’s pretty easy, I’m sure you’ll have no trouble judging by what you’ve already done.
The paint does stay on, but it will come off where you grind on them (if you do). But this happens with any painted trucks even if you buy them that way. I think it just becomes part of the board, and the paint stays on the rest of the truck anyway so I think it’s worth doing if you are getting into it.
I used some engine enamel I already had from painting my engine, so it would stay on the metal. Worked a treat.
How on earth (pun intended) did you do the grip tape? I know Arbor paint the top of their decks and then spray a clear grip substance over the top.
Did you paint the grip tape itself?
