Burton strap replacement

Avatar

Anyone know if I can buy a different burton ankle strap?

I have a Cartel Re:flex but not a huge fan of the strap, it’s fine but could be better. Thinking of trying the diode/genesis ankle strap. Can I use that strap to replace the cartel strap? If so where can I buy it?

The local Burton Dealer should be able to sort that out for ya!!!!!

And there should be no reason why they wouldn’t fit????? Might have to buy the ladder as well due to the possibility of the buckles being different, but ya will end up with a spare if they’re the same anyways!!!!!

And again, the Burton Dealer should be able to tell ya this too!!!!!

so you must have the regular superstrap. What don’t you like about them?

Stores don’t usually have straps in stock (apart from the generic ones) but they can order parts. New parts are harder to get at this point (before the season) so check out last year’s parts too.

only difference between superstraps and react straps are cushioning

edit: yes, they all fit interchangeably. You won’t need new buckles, sliders or tongues

I don’t know exactly, can’t pin point one thing. Maybe it’s not as comfortable as I would like, the Genesis strap looks more comfy and wider too.

So what are the names of the straps gamblor?

regular superstrap = 2012 cartel reflex
react strap = genesis

?

the genesis strap won’t be more comfy since it’s less cush, but you get more response from it. Who knows, it might fit your boot better. They shouldn’t be too expensive. Maybe $20us each.

diode, genesis = react strap
2012 cartel = superstrap
2013 cartel= react strap (but it’s not the same as the genesis/diode)

You should just sell your 2012’s and get these:
lightest cartels ever! genesis baseplate and react straps (genesis)

skip it may also be worth calling burton rider services and see if they can get them for you

@gamblor: Not really a fan of the graphic though haha. How is the Genesis baseplate different than the Cartel’s? Ya I like wider straps like the react ones compared to superstrap. The contact pro straps is one of my favorites.

@finney: will do.

There are two versions: one is just black with the regular 2013 cartel logo on the back. The other type are the regional love ones. Depending on the country or state there’s a different graphic. Those above are the north west ones.

And you guys reckon FLUX has a complicated system with their Binder Range!!!!!  LOL

FLux have the most useless sounding and complicated names

Yeah 15, 30, 45 and CC (Carbon Composite) can be really confusing!!!!!

He might bust out the M6 wearin Diodes from the Malavita Cartel, that runs a Custom Genesis of Restricted Re Flex’s, that were EST back when Cobra Sharks ruled the oceans with their Freestyle Missions!!!!!

yeah, but most binding companies and board companies have proper names on their stuff. Sure, go ahead and list examples proving me wrong - but it doesn’t change the fact that I can remember Union, Rome, Salomon, etc binding names (even when I have no interest in them) but have no clue about the flux

Skip, the toe buckle ratchet on my missions busted at the end of the season. It wouldn’t bite and would come loose halfway down a run sometimes. just got around to sorting a fix this week.
Have actually just finished dealing (today) with the Burton rep in Sydney. He was quick to respond and is now sending me out 2 free buckles of this years missions.  too easy!!  Can’t complain there.

I’m sure if you contacted them offering to pay and stating that it broke or doesn’t suit your foot/boot you could sort a new one..

I can’t remember every companies binding names either, but surely you can even see from a retail perspective, the customer and the sales staff can easily work out that a 45 will be stiffer than a 30, and that a 30 will be stiffer than a 15?????

Just like the durometer scale for the hardness and certain suitability’s of the urethane on a street v’s park skate wheel!!!!!

To someone that hasn’t got any idea of the Burton Range, how does a Diode’s flex compare to that of a Cobra Shark’s?????

A sales assistant can just make it up and that person would believe it?????

As for examples, SLX Boot by Burton, RFL Boot from Ride, The Ride DH & DH2 boards, The Ride EX, LX, DVa, VXn & LXh bindings, The YES TDF, Salamon XLT board, The Salomon F4.0 & F3.0….....

Need more?????
