the only time you really see bindings is when you’re walking around the lodge. This is a very important time as this will be when we are graded on our appearance. I like to have my jacket open so everyone can see my beacon and I carry my snowsaw in my free hand. to let the girls know I can saw through snow. I keep my goggles on so no girls can know when I’m scoping them out.
ahahahahahaha classic, gamblor!
I’d already kinda assumed she’d well and truly chosen the fashion over function when I recommended the spray paint - but now I think Mizu might be right, the paint may well eat away at stuff on the binding.
Just stick with the bindings you have if you like them.
The white ones I have I picked for the function, and as a bonus they are roxy, and so is my board..
So that’s why im looking at the pink roxy ones… Not just cos they are pink.. That’s just an extra bonus
And on the ratchets.. I did use them.. But step ins are so much easier.. I’m off the lift and 1/2 way down the run, before anyone else has bound in.. Also when I get stuck on a flat spot.. Its so easy to hop in and out of my back binding while still moving.. Next season.. If you guys are around perisher when I am.. You will see what I mean..
I won’t use ratchets again because step ins function better for me.. Not because I can’t use ratchets..
also.if i was choosing fashion over function.. I wouldn’t be looking at mens jackets for the lenght.. Or paying 800 on a board, i would have gotten a cheaper one that wasn’t as good with the graphic i was inlove with.. although.. I love how colourful my board is.
I’m not looking at the bindings just cos they are pink.. And im not spray painting them for that reason.. I’m looking at roxy bindings because I’ve used them all this season and i have progressed HEAPS.. They are comfy, they do what i want them to.. I took a gamble trying the step in function.. But i love it..

Go faster!
k2 autos are useless
tried to imitate others and failed
i really like the look of the new flows this year with the S strap…similar to the contraband
might even invest in one later but will wait to see when the verdict comes out
I dont buy into the strap in faster. its bullshit. By the time you get all the snow out of the binding, kicked your foot in (takes a few kicks due to being a snug fit) it is on par with doing up normal bindings, MAYBE 1 sec faster.

Im totally with you on this dean.
strapping in should take no longer than 10seconds really. and cant see a step in taking anything less than normal
I actually thought about rear entry bindings for a while and I started to pay attention to those who had them. As mentioned I have watched many with them spend just as long doing them up if not longer than me doing my ratchets up. Happy days if they work for you hoz, maybe I missed the original point of the thread, not sure but I thought it was purely to have two different coloured bindings? I’m a bit hungover again today as well which doesn’t help ha ha ha!

This makes no sense. If it wasn’t fashion over function you wouldn’t look at two different brands or models of bindings.
That being said, I know plenty of people who have resorted to two different bindings, or even just classic frankinbindings - but they were forced to because their bindings had broken, I don’t know of anyone who has chosen to do it just because they can though.
NBG. lol no worries! and yes it was to have 2 different colours because i like how they stand out.. (but its not that important.. im not about to go buy some random pink bindings cos i can and be all like HURR I HAZ PINK AND WHITE!!) it was more a “can i if i really wanted to?”
also ill see if i can find a vid of me with the step ins.. (hoping in and out) i dont know about any one having to “kick their foot in” i have the roxy ones pictured in the first post.. and another fieind has the GNU park bindings.. also step in.. he has been boarding 1-2 seasons longer than me.. and we are both first in and gone.. before the other 5-6 of our group are.. and one of them has been boarding about 15 years.. the others range from about 4-7 years… btw this was my 2nd season.. last year i used rentals.. before that i was a skier..
and dylanv… go faster??.. last time i “went faster” on the flat i caught my front edge and body slammed.. and winded myself.. and yes i got it on gopro lol!! i should upload that…. i officially hate bluecow home trail haha probs was cos we left sydney at 2am.. after i worked a 12 hour day the day before and then i boarded from 9-4:30pm.. i did this on the way back to the skitube to go home.. so my verdict was 1/2 asleep h0z + new gear + just wanting to sit down + lack of experience = pain (but a good laugh rewatching it later) haha
i dont know about any one having to “kick their foot in” ***** I think by that he means kick the snow out of the footbed*****

haha yes you should upload that i dont think theres anywhere in perisher that i need to unstrap for after the past season, abit of crab walking yea, but you can get most places with practice and speed
i am rocking a franken binding
union contact SL base plate and highback
Fluk Fk toe strap
found the toe strap on the contacts rubbish
Union team ankle straps
the team ankle straps is mainly because i can
the ratchets do work slightly better on the team bindings (which are force ratchets)
haha humdingaling!! what ever works! i was thinking of swapping parts over if i did get the pink set too.. so they were opposite… kinda like the burton customs.. (and no one would have anything like me!)
haha i will do that eventually dylanv.. and ive improoved so much since then.. (thank god!!) i can now crabwalk/duckwaddle or what ever its called.. and can keep my speed up alot better..
and you cant tell me that this isnt quicker.. after a whole season with them (22 days in total for me) im converted and wouldnt go back to ratchets.. only person to get bound in faster/same time, was my friend with his step-ins.. and i didnt have to sit to bind in.. which i thoguht was awesome (yes i know some of you guys with ratchets dont have to either.. but im not that good.. lol)
these are the fastec system.. (which is what my roxy ones use)

Hey hOz
I didn’t realise that Roxy bindings use SP’s system. In this case, don’t worry too much about what people are saying about rear entry bindings being crap (not that you are listening to them anyway you know what works for you) This is a fast binding system that ACTUALLY WORKS. (Maybe not quite as good as ratchets but the best I’ve seen in the fast bindings.
What everyone is complaining about is the Flow Bindings system. It’s not the same, not sure if you have tried it but I used to own some and they suck.
They broke the spine of my boots and they are not faster to strap into. And man do they feel bad to ride with cause they don’t tighten down like SP’s they just wedge your foot in there.
Don’t get the Flow’s. Their Boards are good but they’re bindings have no benefit to using them. Stick with the Roxy’s for sure.
