I arrive in Whistler on Australia Day. Glad to see there’ll be a large crew of Aussies up there to celebrate with!

Pics?
It would be awesome if someone does take photos, that way next year when someone asks the same questions we have something to show them!

Alex: good stuff, which building are you in? Some of my housemates from summer are back up in staff housing now, Hannah who’s a HA in building 7 I believe and also Bart Mearns, not sure which building though. Hannah’s a promoter for Moe Joes this winter so if you need a door list or anything sorted hit her up and she’ll arrange it for you.

Still another 6-7 weeks before I’m over there but have seen some pics of my place in Nordic and can’t wait to get all moved in.

Finney: I’m a bit wary of trying to arrange accomodation before I get there because I’ve heard of ppl, and talked to ppl who have been scammed in the past. Question is, how did you go about arranging your accomodation for this winter? was it contacts or ppl you knew from past seasons?

I’m living with people I’ve known from previous seasons so Jess who I’m living with lined it all up as she was in Whistler at the time.

As for arranging accom before getting over there it’s not too bad. Shaner on here inspected the place I lived in last season on my behalf and the year before that I just organised it directly through the owner in whistler via email. But once again that was inspected by housemates and signed by them as they got over there mid October. If you want to get in touch with shaner on here and see if he’s still willing to look at places for a small fee like last season.

Alternatively as I’ve mentioned in another post check out the whistler winter 2012/2013 group on facebook and possibly try and get a group together that way or see if any rooms come up? - http://www.facebook.com/groups/510481582301427/

My room is currently taken though another guy who was living in there all summer as he’s still trying to find a place. Let me know if you’re still having trouble finding a place closer to your arrival date and I’ll see if he’s still in there. If not then I may be able to sublet mine to you until I get over there.

Hey all, another newbie here. Thought I would post something after using this forum quite a bit when researching my trip.

Arrived in Whistler yesterday and have started hunting around for a job. Can’t wait to see some snow (first time seeing it) and getting out on to the mountain!!

Cool man, sounds like a good idea. Yeah I’ve got a couple of mates over there already so I might get them to inspect a place or two for me and just shout them a carton or something.

Thanks for the advice Finney!

I’m in Glacier building 7, lucky me I got an end unit so it’s a bit bigger than the other units. Ill take some pictures and post them when I get a chance! The renos are nice, got rid of the carpets so it’s a lot easier to keep clean. It’s been raining all weekend, hopefully the temperature drops so it’ll snow instead! Saw a bear walk right by the window when I was at 18 Below, pretty awesome lol.

Bears are still out and about? Damn…

Looks like my living situation is getting interesting. Myself and a few others have pretty much come to the realisation that finding a house for all of us in late November is virtually impossible so we’re all going looking solo for whatever is available.
Time for me to find a place for the whole season. Let me know if anything pops up!

Hi All,

I’ll be arriving in Whistler on the 28th of November and moving into staff accom.  Got a job at the Fairmont as Rental Tech.  Can’t wait to meet everyone!
