There wouldnt be any long distance, no point trying to start a relationship from opposite sides of the earth. Fair enough if you are already in it, committed and have a return date set.

If it does work out, one of us will be relocating.

Haha thank Kim!

i say go for it deano if nothing happens at least you seen france lol

I wasn’t taking any form of bodily function on Deano’s parade.  When’s your bday Deano, I’ll buy you one of those learn to speak French CD’s you can listen to in your car so you’re ahead of the game when you move ha ha ha!

Haha bday was 17th Oct, so that boat has sailed! Chrissy?

yeah, would hate to learn another language unless you absolutely had to…  confused

Really? i have always been intrigued by other languages on my travels and have always wanted to learn one. Just wasnt sure which one…now i am cheese

hahaha too bad its easier when you are a girl, but it depends i find people in the countryside are heaps nice, just give Deano a lonely planet book, he would be fine, but hahah it sounds like we just wanna ship deano off to France. We should just chose the location. DEANO get a place in lyon or somewhere near the alps….

Yeh from what she has told me, the French dont like it if you come to their country and cant speak their language decent. But as i said above, i always wanted to learn another language, here is good enough opportunity!

No, not really at all. The previous post to mine implied that was the case…and that was my poor attempt at sarcasm.

Australia would be a better place if more people knew more languages. I’ve learnt swedish (for fun and for love - the love part came after) and learnt japanese, german and some french at school. I’ve forgotten a lot of the last 3 but still maintain an interest in them.

I really wish they still taught Latin in schools. Makes learning quite a few other languages a whole lot simpler!

OMG so I just got back from Sovereign Hill today… I was walking around with my kids (group of 6), looking around at all the old miners tents when this older lady (teacher) from another school was guiding a visually impared girl (with a white cane) around (she was about 13 years old)... The lady was explaining each of the exhibits when she walked next to us and started explaining to her student:

Teacher: “As you can see, this is one of the miner’s…”
Girl (innocently, matter-of-fact): “I can’t see. I’m blind”.
Teacher: trying to backpedal her comment, ridiculously embarrassed, didn’t know what to do, where to look…..
gulp

Meanwhile, I’m right next to them, with my kids, trying to stop myself from pissing myself laughing…the poor teacher!  LOL
