No!!!!! | 5 |
To be fair, this is the actual photo:
I’m not a fan. All shots should have at least a basic point for reference.
The only one in those 5 that would even provoke a “that’s nice” is #2 because he really is in the middle of the sky and you can tell how high he is from the shot.
Still not fantastic but the best out of an average bunch of shots.
And in the name of said “fairness”!!!!!
Never said I liked the shot, just that this is better than the thumbnail version originally posted.
The snow coming off his board shows us he isn’t really high as he just took off. And since we can’t see the ground, they are using the guy in the sky shot to make it look bigger than it actually is.
Never said that ya did like the shot?????
But you guys did mention “point of reference” many a time when arguing ya case against “guy in the sky” shots!!!!!
Even in the second pic that you posted, it doesn’t show that “point of reference”!!!!!
The reason why I posted the first shot, was to point out that even on BW, we’re obviously not the only ones that thinks “guy in the sky” pics have merit!!!!!
I know full well that you don’t like them!!!!!
Cool.
I think Burton probably posted it more for the Craig Kelly / 22years old reason vs the liking of the shot.
It’s probably one of the better photos from 22 years ago at the snow available freely for them.
lol fb profile photos aren’t exactly the standard for magazine editorial photography. I have loads of photos of me that I love (because it’s me) but they wouldn’t make it into a magazine.
Was Facebook around in 1990?????
do you think action sports photography hasn’t changed in 22 years?
So because its a style from the past its no longer valid?????
Snowboard photography has progressed craploads in the last ten years or so. No self respecting pro snapper would even submit that shot for consideration these days.
I have a board just like the one in that shot.
i would have done un-speakable things for his sunglasses as a teen! those bent arm oakley blades were the shit!
I have a board just like the one in that shot.
A 1990 Mystery Air! NICE!!!
Snowboard technology has progressed craploads since then, why would any self respectin Llama Farmer even consider ownin one of those?????
I just thought I’d post something I saw on Rune Glifberg’s Facebook page today…
