I have used both men’s and women’s without a problem but can’t really compare, the men’s board was cambered and the women’s banana rocker.
I did ride a flying v in the US not sure if the board was gender specific though as I didn’t take note of the board that much lol!
Hang on…
I have some more questions…. So in Snowboard design they don’t make a Board and then make almost the exact same board with a few tweaks more specific female riders??
if i am understanding the question properly
then yes .....take GNU Park pickleMODEL NAME CONTACT LENGTH SIDE CUT NOSE WIDTH WAIST WIDTH TAIL WIDTH STANCE Min-Max/BOC Board Category Contruction Type Flex 1=soft 10=firm Weight Range (lbs)

yes there is a 1cm difference in length but biggest difference is the last figure ...weight rangealso female boards tend to be in the smaller end of the scale
Yep thats it exactly!
Interesting that most of the numbers are different and that they are a ‘bigger’ number

sorry to resurrect and old thread.. but i was going to post something similar..
i have all girls stuff.. for boarding.. but i wear of lot of mens clothing.. jackets, t-shirts, and trackies! so i figured why not get a mens jacket?
my 2 womens jackets are great.. till i hit a few jumps (im learnign to land properly still…) and like to land on my butt ALOT.. sooo i end up with snow all down my back.. and cant really find a womens one thats long enough.. a few of the new betty rides look alright tho,,, so i might hold off and see what they have? but till then im searching for a decent mens one… its good to know im not the only girl thats noticed the silly crop they have!!
im just finding it so hard to get one i like.. (im super fussy with my jackets,) i currently have pink pants and “sea sponge black” pants, (they are black with grey paint like spots dabbled over them.. just look like faded camo) and i have a white jacket and a pink jacket, (usualt wear the white jacket, pink pants.. or the pink jacket, black pants combos,,)so im trying to find a menta jacket that will suit both pants.. some something kind of colourful.. with a but of pink if possible..
but im not having too much luck..
if you guys have any ideas.. feel free to post!
so far considering these:
^ thats my fave one so far..
i have a roxy board and bindings,, so quicksilver seemed like the next best option, and i checked them out first.. (love the colours on this one)
i like this one for the simplicity, all my stuff is pretty much one colour.. but im not too sure on the white, as my other jacket is white and its getting really dirty :(
i am soooo in LOVE with the jacket,, its perfect.. buuut i cant find it in stock anywhere!! :(
I love the 2nd last 686 one, i nearly got it last time. I like you try to go for a men’s jacket that has some kind of girly pinkness or something on it! I also have black pants with a bit of white spots sort of on them.
I ended up going with a Sessions jacket that is white/pink/blue. Can’t remember the model name but a google search didn’t find anything. Will take a pic of it later.
I won a betty rides jacket in a comp this year, it should fit me but I I’m afraid the cut isn’t long enough for it to be any use.
Dont apologise for bringing up an old thread h0z, it’s better than starting a new one
I like the first quiksilver jacket, but you’d definitely have to have pretty plain coloured pants to go with it!
I have a womens jacket and I do have the issue of snow getting up the back/down my pants. I have noticed that a lot of womens jackets now are being designed a little longer in the body.
I spend too much time on my backside…... and I gave up on women’s jackets for that reason. I put on a man’s jacket that we had here and have been wearing it ever since. I am more fussy with pockets. I’ve had a couple of falls and hurt my ribs and boobs, so won’t ride with a phone in my chest pocket.
At this stage I’m happy to be riding, I happy that sometimes I can get from top to bottom without falling, even if it is super slow, and I really don’t care any more about style. (there was a time!) every extra year out there is a bonus, and at the end of every season, I look back and say… yeah that was good woohoo!!! Winner!!!!
I like the last jacket…. nice….
Can someone please fix h0z first pic?
here is the code for ya!

lol done, Oz. I actually forgot that I was a mod of this section and had the ability/power to do that, otherwise I would have done it yesterday. hahaha
I’m using this stoopid assignment I’m trying to finish as my excuse. Still 2200 words to write + a scheisenhausen load of editing of it to be done. argh!
I used to wear only mens stuff because it was more technical (if that makes sense!)
Now I seem to be into more girly styles and thankfully the brands have realised that woman want functionality not just style!
Although Tambo I think that is going against what you are saying?
For what it is worth I like the Quicksilver one! I am not a huge fan of fluro. Not bothered by bright colours just not a fluro kinda girl.
PS - Thanks cords! I was struggling to look at this page and read everyone’s comments as the were off the page.
whatever works hey.
And just because it works for me today….
doesn’t mean it will work tomorrow
Alllo lovely ladies!!!!
I’ve never had a blokes jacket, however I’m not against them. There is so much more variety out there if you’re a guy!
Some women’s jackets are cut horribly, and make you feel like a Michelin Man… At the mo I really love my 3cs jacket, super warm and comfy… It’s faded a fair bit now!
Have had many jackets in the past… My one before was sessions, can’t remember style, but I always found I had to layer up heaps because I was always cold… Would’ve been hopeless in Japan!! I think I’m up to my 10th or 11th jacket now, yikes!
Just remember, pretty is good, but look at the stats too!
im not too fussed on the warmth.. i die of heat in my other 2 jackets and they are both 10k/10g iirc, (ill note that i work in a deli, so i spend long periods of time in a cool room (0-4*C and in the freezer, below -18*C..) so im kind of climatised to the cold.. hehe))
last year a boarded in a tshirt a bit.. till i got extremely sun burnt lol!
so anything above 5k/5g with a decent amount of pockets and thats colourful shold do.. but that seems to be a hard combo to find for this season.. (the 1st and 4th jackets i posted are 2008/2009.. so practically impossible to find.. (i have found the 4th one.. in XL on ebay…) but id prefer the 1st one.. so im going to see if i cant find anything closer to that style
the 10k/10k represents waterproofness and breathability and isn’t anything to do with how warm the jacket is….it sounds like you want to buy a shell and not a jacket with insulation.
Yep I am with cords!
10K breathabilty is something you need! if you are getting hot. and also look for a shell rather than a padded insulated jacket
