nthn awesome report as usual man .... It looks like u had great time.
^ I second…
Weirdly it didn’t really feel like I was there to snowboard, it was strange strapping in at the top, like in my head I was there primarily to climb mountains or something
I get into that same zone. Can’t explain it, but it makes me want to do it more
Something about being up and out there.
Cheers guys, glad you like it, makes it worth putting in the time to do TR’s when ppl appreciate them.
Yeah Azz it’s weird, at the top the last thing I was really thinking about was snowboarding back to the bottom. If i go again I would like to do a few days, one day similar to what I just did for sure and another one spent sessioning a built jump or cornice drop or something, cover all bases that way!

Count me in for that trip!!!
Dylan, Bear reported that I was raping rhino’s during the night, so badly in fact that he ripped small pieces of my foam mat to use as earplugs ha ha!
Haha no surprizes there¡¡¡
Great report as usual nthn!
I’ve been looking in level 1 avalanche/BC courses recently so a couple of your comments reiterated how important it may be.

That would probably need to be soon if you were doing it this year, can’t imagine the snowpack will hang in there for too much longer. This weekend is out obviously due to the Sydney meet up.

Yeah mate some of the stuff I thought we be a good idea in relation to camping just isn’t and you can understand why when it’s explained to you. For instance where we originally setup apart from the mini serac at the top of the gully would have been kinda dumb in winter when it’s snowing, if it was snowing 3-4cms an hour in a spot like that the accumulations due to wind blown could be as much as 20cms an hour, burying you and your tent and killing you due to carbon dioxide poisoning. Apparently thasts what happened to those Sydney guys a few years back, dug into the side of a cornice on the lee side and the opening filled up while they slept.

Ohyour thinking of this year? Well put me down as a maybe then, deffinately let me know if you are tho
Finally got to read this!!!!!
Nice TR, nthn!!!!!
I’ve really got to get my act together and go BC, as I’ve never done it!!!!! Reading and looking at ya pics makes me a bit envious!!!!!
Did you see that its been snowing again today?!?
How long does the snow have left this year?
Finished at the start of the month.
I think he means how much time does the BC snow have left. I honestly couldn’t tell you but I do know there is a bit of a freeze coming up and maybe a little bit of a top up but not sure that anything less than about 15-20cms would have much of an impact. Even with that much I would stick to the faces I rode this weekend to avoid core shotting the shit out of your board on some rock.
Cheers Mizu, I’m really glad I did it, I think it’s one of those things you need to do at least once although finding the time and willing buddies can be the biggest issue, especially someone who has the proper know how and experience getting around out there.
Dylan realistically not much chance this year, if it’s gunna happen would have to be the first weekend in Nov. This weekend you could have hiked and built quite close to the road anywhere from Perisher to Charlottes. Hell the halfpipe is still kinda there as is the landing ramp on the last jump at FV. You coulda made it down the Leichardt Tbar track and also all the way down Mt P easy. Spoke to a guy on the main range who had spent the previous day skiing Olympic as the weather on the range had been foul and he reckoned it was decent.
Yeah, if I ever pull my finger out of my tube, I work with the guy that has his name at the top of this list in the link below!!!!! He’s offered a few times, as well as canyoning, base jumping and so forth!!!!! Not too keen on throwin meself off cliffs though!!!!!

He just did the 17 highest peaks in 2 days just this September past!!!!!
