With the Pro/Am Invitational Tour only in its second year, we here at SbA are stoked on the enthusiasm with which Australia’s elite skateboarders have embraced the concept. To the extent that the lads are now planning their schedules around the stops, and also giving invaluable input and feedback on how to improve the courses, it’s awesome to see our nation’s best coming together for what have been some of the most memorable sessions witnessed in the history of Oz skateboarding.

Just as Shocklands (Melb) and The Island (Syd) provided unique courses influenced by legit street obstacles, THUNDERDOME will once again provide a platform guaranteed to showcase the absolute best of the best from Australia’s top 40 skateboarders.

Whilst 2011’s Oz Champ Tommy Fynn currently leads in points, Murwillumbah’s Blake Harris is rolling in a close 2nd, Eden’s Reece Warren is in 3rd, and Melbourne’s Jack Kirk in 4th, all are possible contenders for the Championship and the bonus $5000 to add to the rest of their year’s winnings.

Championship points aside, as a stand-alone event, Thunderdome has a total prize pool of $10,000 for the day with 1st place scoring $4000, and cash down to 8th, so you can expect nothing short of mind-blowing skateboarding in Sydney’s Hordern Pavillion on December 1st.
