An interesting point I heard was Game of Thrones Season 2 was the most pirated show ever. If you take out factors such as it being a very popular show (especially in the internet nerd demographic) a large factor contributing to such high piracy rates was how hard HBO had made it for people to watch.
You essentially needed an american/canadian cable connection with the HBO addon. It wasn’t made available anywhere online (itunes, website streaming etc) and dvd/bluray releases weren’t until a year later.
It’s amazing how much more convenient a sickbeard/usenet/htpc setup is compared to trying to watch something legally. Add to that the far superior HD quality it’s a no brainer.
Hell yes! To all of that.
Oh and the aussie networks constantly screwing us around with the scheduling!
But I know the US also do schedule stuff around and sometimes I think that the aussie shows know that (Glee was not on last week in the US) so hold off airing so they have a buffer of sorts - then screw us later anyway! I remember when it happened last year twitter went of moaning about channel ten stuffing us around - but yet it was cause there was no ep form the US that week.

Yeah mate, you’re right about Game of Thrones Season 2 - they shattered the record! That’s what got me reading about the marketing implications.
