so much style
Looooove Bradshaw’s style.
Also I found this vid that you guys might like from the “20 tricks” vids.
I’m glad I found this because I have had so many arguments with other instructors about ‘Cab’ and ‘Switch frontside’ not being the same thing. IT’S NOT! OKAY!
Mr Bradshaw explains in this vid how to do a Caballerial aka a Cab 360 or Full Cab.
He also explains that a switch frontside spin only becomes ‘Cab’ if it is initiated by ollie-ing off the tail while going switch (Tail roll into the spin from switch).
The motion is kinda like a pole vaulter digging his pole into the ground. We dig the tail into the ground and rotate around it.
So do our man Steve Caballero proud and use the name Cab correctly.
“Caballerial, not switch frontside 360s. Don’t get em twisted” - Chris Bradshaw
Check it out!
I’ve seen that video but I’m still confused lol
Watch again. He approaches switch and then ollies off his back foot (which is in front because he is switch). This is what makes it a Cab 360 or Full Cab
If you just pop or ollie off the foot which is now at the back, it’s just a boring old switch 360.
If you use this technique with a 180 it’s a Half Cab. 360 it’s a Caballerial or Full Cab. 540 and above it’s a Cab 540 etc.
When people in the park say “Oh man, I just did Cab 1080”. I highly doubt it more likely it was just a switch front 1080.
Skateboarders were doing this for years before us so I feel it’s important to say it right so we aren’t saying dumb trick names like skiers with no idea what they actually mean. Also cause I saw Steve Caballero skate at the Bondi Bowlarama and he deserves people to be doing his trick right god dammit!
Oooo I see what you mean, so essentially it’s a nollie now (since the back foot is now in front) and that what makes it cab?
Yep, you got it bro. It’s a nollie from your switch stance.
That was dope.
