thanks Sam, yeah i found one here in sydney, that i will be calling them today and see if i can come in 2 morrow and check it out….
yeah me and chucky where going of the net rating…...
when you played with it did it seem stiff ?
Honestly, I think you’ll be hard pressed to find any board thats softer than your current board possibly a K2 WWW? (assuming that you’re referring to the octorocker?)
Something a bit stiffer with a regular/flat camber profile is going to have a lot more pop which is what you’re going to want in the park anyway so I wouldn’t be too phased.
^^^^^ Yep!!!!!
Finney yeah at the moment i got octorcoker and stiffness is rated at 5.
I am going to see the ply 2 morrow and see how it goes…
i also have been looking at DC PBJ 2013 what do you guys think of that ?
edit:
This bloody rocker, TBT, camber does my head in…..
Andy thanks heaps for that.
It makes lot of sense as to what you saying.
I never tried TBT technology so i would be taking a chance on that.
Let say if either go with DC or the Jackpot would you take those boards to japan if you where just to do park and maybe little powder runs ?
Thanks
Lano
I would say a rider like you could handle either of those boards in Japan. But the Jackpot will float a little better in powder because it has rockered tips.
I’m working in Japan next season and I will be on a pure camber board. But if you want to float easier in the powder than the Jackpot is the way to go.
If you want the more aggressive board with a little more snap in the nose/tail, then get the DC.
I thought that the DC PLY is similar in profile to the YES Jackpot????? ie CamRock Style!!!!!

Did ya try any boards at the Shred?????
Maybe it’s more that Rocker doesn’t feel right for you, than the actual length/flex of the Octorocker?????
maybe.
2 be honest NO, by the time i got to the shred on saturday morning everything that was in my size was gone…..
i tried libtec banana in 156 as that was smallest that was available and hrm was nothing special… i did not have that WOW factor about it.
I wanted to try stepchild one but Dolph was hogging it most of the time and there was 2 more one is 146 i think and 159 i think.
So if the LIB didn’t do anything for ya, maybe it’s soley based on the rocker profile?????
As finney stated before, the flex of the Octorocker is soft!!!!! I rode one last Shred and it was a noodle compared to my YES Tasmaniac!!!!!
It was good in Spring Slush, but when it came to hardpack groomed it lost a lot of control, just like you’d expect a rockered board to do!!!!!
I say go for the PLY or Jackpot as both will be very similar I reckon!!!!! The TBT will be looser then a rocker, and by the sounds of it, it’s not the profile that ya after?????
That’s my take anyway!!!!!
And note that a stiff cambered board doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s no good for the park either!!!!! AJ2theC rides one of the stiffest cambered boards out there (Custom X) and he shreds the park!!!!!
Having the control of a cambered board might be the thing that will make you feel more solid when facing the features?????
you should have just kicked dolph in the junk and taken the board. WOuld have been easy seeing he didnt have any pants on for Saturday riding!

Maybe you are right mizu but sadly i had no opportunities to try anything else so i can really tell you ....
That is why i might sound difficult and undeceive but its only coz i want to make the right choice i guess.
I am going in to see it 2 morrow i put it on hold, so i will see how it goes but again i want know how it is till i dont try it on snow.

i has a 2011 153 PBJ (pro, believe only the graphics is different to the normal one) if you want to play around with it

Similar but not the same Miz. YES boards are Camrock as you know, DCs are “Lock & Load” camber. Which is marketing wanker talk for “Camber with flat tips” instead of rocker tips like the YES.

Camrock
Lock n load
