Since everyone is making a thread about new boards, might as well make one too. I’ve been thinking of getting a new board (althought not 100% sure, need to get a job first) when I’m returning to Canada in Dec. I’ve been torn between 3 boards so I don’t know what to choose. I mostly ride Whistler, mostly all mountain (groomers, pow, steeps, small side hits, etc.) not really a park guy. Sometimes I’ll go to the small park to hit small jumps and boxes. I’m 5’5” 150lbs size 9 boots. My daily driver was my 53 T.Rice.
So the choices are:
1. 156 YES pick your line. Loved this board and everything about it, demoed one in a 59 which is a tad bit too long.
2. 154 Lib Lando. Loved my Rice wish it was just a lil bit set back and narrower waist, which is where the Lando comes in. Only worry is the TNT base but I’m sure it’ll be fine. Also has mellow mag which is awesome.
3. 156 Rossi One Magtek. Demoed this 2 seasons ago and also really loved it, real catch free ride and excellent edge hold. Graphic is kinda blahhh but I can get this one the cheapest due to CASI.
PYLFTW!
YES!!!!!
Then bolt some DMCC’s on it, and ya got FLUX YES!!!!!
Hahaha, I’m sorry Mizu but no flux for me. If I were to get new bindings it’ll prolly be NOW
The way I figure it, you tried the PYL/NOW combo and loved it - too easy.
But I can get the One Mag for almost half the price of the PYL haha, this is so hard lol.
Rossignol is owned by an evil scumbag corporation who are only in it for the money. YES is owned by awesome peeps who are 100% in it for the snowboarding.
Haha true, even though I don’t really care who’s behind the company lol (I think we have a discussion about this chucky haha). Actually some other contenders include:
Never summer cobra
Never summer raptor
The reason for the is the same as the Rossi, I can get them cheaper than the retail price. Argghh so many good boardsss.
Why only the One Magtek? Can’t you get any rossi board on pro form? The Jibsaw would be my pick over any YES or Libtech board.
I’ll also mention that NOW bindings apparently do get snow stuck under them in some snow conditions, contrary to what a lot of demoers have had to say - that coming from a testing team in Europe.
Oh yeah I can get any Rossi board, but I only demoed the Krypto, One Magtek, and Templar. It’s just that I love how the One Mag rides. Templar rides really nice too, perfect flex but I’m worried it’ll be too soft after it breaks in hence the one mag.
Haven’t tried the Jibsaw, heard the it’s a good all around board but more towards the park? Why do you prefer jibsaw over any YES or lib?

This. Maybe my choice of words would be different but I agree with the sentiment.

Sounds like a winner, and I think it would be nice having two different boards with different camber profiles.
Ya that’s what I was thinking, have a bit of change with the camber profile.
Another choice would be 155 Ride Berzerker
so no proform for YES? (have you tried contacting them?)If so I would go with whatever you have a proform for.
Smokin makes amazing boards and my instructor friend got proform rates from the owner.
I’ve heard the Ride high life is a better choice than the berzerker.
@gamblor:No proform for YES =(. Only rossi, endeavor, arbor, rome, prior, stepchild, never summer, elan, bataleon, and artec. Supposedly there should be burton too but haven’t seen it yet.
The reason I said berzerker instead of highlife is that I’ve demoed the berzerker once in tahoe and it’s cheaper than the highlife.
EDIT: just contacted YES, hopefully they’ll reply.
