The only issues with hard fixing your mount to a helmet is there is no dedicated weak spot (fuse)
A) The mount itself or camera can break.
B) you’ve attached a good lever on your head that significantly increases the risk of neck spinal damage.
There’s a reason the mounting tape is weak - it’s cheap to replace and can save your life because it creates a fuse.
It’s also another advantage of tethered camera’s (like VIO) having a small, lightweight camera with minimal lever area and the weight means it doesn’t vibrate/move during high G forces.
