This thread will most likely end up as most of these Real Life Issue Threads always end up, but I’m just interested in the opinions of the masses!!!!!

I, personally am gettin a little sick of hearing that it was the Police Officer’s fault, every time they try to apprehend a criminal and something as tragic as this happens!!!!!
I just wanna know why people don’t accept responsibility for their, or their friends/family’s actions to a greater extent in todays world?????
If you are doing something idiotic and the cops are after you and they need to use force, you’re asking for it.
I am on the cops side.
It’s the same with the Mac Fields riots. They rioted because 3 kids stole a car, the cops were chasing them and then the kids fkd up and hit a pole, killing one of them. The people then rioted because the kid died.
Not cool.
Good story on hack (triple J) when i was driving to work last night about it…..

100% agree!
I am on the cops side 95% of the time but at the same time, I wouldn’t ever comment on a situation in which I didn’t know the full story.
I know someone who was arrested for ‘failing to leave the area’ of a party they had split up, when he was 150m from the house and walking away (in the opposite direction) from the party. They said he was intoxicated and he wasn’t. I collected him from the police station and turned up there already feeling that I was on the police’s side - but their own actions were arrogant, rude, condescending and highly unprofessional. He ended up being fined in court, and another friend who WAS still at the scene of the party and WAS drunk got off. Go figure…
I have also been lucky enough never to have experienced discrimination because of my race. A lot of people have and I can understand their distrust and uneasiness around the police. I do believe that if you have nothing to hide that there is no reason to run, but having seen what happened to the person I know, which was completely unjust, I definitely see a grey area where people may make a split-second decision to run, based on fear.
Sorry cords, but I can’t believe for one minute that ya friend was purely arrested due to their race????? Like the Cops have nothing better to do other than file paper work on people for doing nothing wrong other than being born somewhere else!!!!! Even the court upheld the decision of the arresting officers?????
He may have been 150m and walking in the opposite direction, but was he giving them a mouthful as he did it????? Was he drinking at the time????? Did he ignore the directions of the Police at all????? Maybe the other friend at the party was drunk, but they caused no trouble whatsoever?????
I have mates that have said that they had gotten “harassed” by the Cops/Bouncers/Security when they didn’t do anything wrong too!!!!!
But after a chat with them, and along with knowing their true character, I can say 100% of the time they had brought it upon themselves!!!!!
Like I said, people have just gotta start ownin up for things that they bring upon themselves!!!!!
And what did this Brazilian guy have to fear????? He was most likely the one that had everyone one else scared shitless as to what he might do next!!!!!
I’m on the cops side. Well im on the good cops side.
Every profession has the people who make them bad and the police seem to have some who make them all look bad. If you mess up up cop it sweet and man up to your actions.
I didn’t say anything about that person and race. The person was white?
They weren’t giving anyone a mouthful, they weren’t near any cops…the cops came up behind him and and arrested him. He hadn’t not followed any directions, he was a long way away from the party.
The one who was drunk was the one giving a mouthful.
I know exactly the type of incident you mean when people have brought it upon themselves and I fully believed this to be the case until I saw the conduct of the police who arrested him with my own eyes and ears. I heard one of those stories from a friend just last saturday and called him out on it straight away. This was definitely not one of those cases.
I referred to race because if someone can be so obviously wrongfully arrested and fined for something and they are white, I have no problem imagining that those who had experienced discrimination in the past might fear it happening to them, have a freak out and run. I’m not excusing it - just saying I can empathise enough to understand it.
I personally think that the race card gets played whenever it can, and it’s getting really old!!!!!
You run, then it’s pretty obvious that ya up to no good!!!!!
Me personally????
NO Never, it wasn’t me, you can’t prove a thing, I wasn’t even near the place at that time
I personally think that the race card gets played whenever it can, and it’s getting really old!!!!!
Too easy for someone who hasn’t never been discriminated against (for their colour) to say, imo.
Not saying that card hasn’t been played many times when it wasn’t justified…but the times when it has been justified was and continues to far outweigh the times when it hasn’t.
Saying that card has been done to death and is no longer applicable just pretends that the issue doesn’t exist anymore….and that is nowhere close to the truth.
Sick of the race card and yes I have been discriminated against because of my race. I’m white as but it does happen. I’m usually pretty good at taking the consequences, except when I see other ppl getting away with whatever it is I’m in trouble for, that shits me.

While I definitely feel as though I’ve been looked down upon due to me being of a different race/Colour, they have not acted in a threatening way!!!!!
Many Cops are from the same mix as society, so there is now way that it can be justifiably used as a legitimate reason now!!!!!
People just seem to have it in their psyche as the reason to why they’re getting in trouble!!!!! And that mostly comes from the reiteration of it from both society and their immediate peer group!!!!!
The kid was on LSD, he was tripping balls of course he ran!
They are trying to pass a law in the UK now that if someone breaks into your house you can use force to protect yourself. This is years after a man was charged with murder for protecting himself in his own house. Nothing sillier than someone getting jailed for a longer period of time for defending themself, than the idiot that broke into their house.
